Card- love you so

Hey everyone! First of all I want to thank everyone for praying for Ms. Jean (the lady from our church). Her heart Dr. said, yes she had a stroke, but she would have a full recovery! Praise God! She is already doing much better! :) She is so special to our family! We are going to visit her later today, and then tomorrow we are headed to San Antonio and New Braunfels. We are going to Sea World, the Alamo, Riverwalk, a drive thru Safari, and toobing down the river! A very packed long weekend vacation! We do our family vacations in the Winter, but we decided to go on a little vacation, and some friends and their kids are going too! I think we will have a great time! So we will be back Monday afternoon! I have been packing, but in between I sneak to my craft table and make cards! :) I wanted to share a card I made for my Mom, just to let her know I love her. I have mentioned before, she lost her husband in October, and still has some hard days, so I just wanted to send her a little love! I bought this ribbon awhile back and have never used it, but I love it! I had this color combo in my head for awhile too, so I just put them together! Well, I'm off to pack some more stuff!
Supplies:
Paper- SU!, grid paper, scraps from my stash
Stamp- Studio G
Ink- StazsOn-jet black
Accessories- Zebra print ribbon, circle punch, Martha Stewart punch

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #13

Hey everyone! It has been a crazy week!! A lady from our church (I have mentioned her a couple of times before), has been acting really weird! She has been very confused, so they had to life flight her to the hospital, because they thought she had a stroke. We sat up at the hospital all day today, and they don't really know what is wrong with her. They admitted her and are going to do more tests, so if you could, please say a prayer for her! We call her Ms. Jean.

OK, it's time for another color challenge over at Dawn's, and I love the colors this week!! I wanted to make something with buttons, so I looked through my stamps and found this one. Thanks for the inspiration Kelley! :) It's a pretty simple card, but I like how it turned out! If you haven't noticed, I am loving the pop of red! :) So, here it is!

Paper-white & melon cs

Traveler's Inspiration Challenge {4}

Hello everyone! Sorry I didn't post yesterday, we decided to start back to school shopping! We went yesterday to get all the school supplies! I started shopping for my son's school supplies, and was almost finished, when my daughter says, Momma your getting 2nd grade, Chace is going to third! :) I knew that, but trying to get two kids school supplies at the same time, and they are both wanting you to do theirs first, I guess it slipped my mind! :) So after putting all the supplies back, I had to start over! :) Then my son started football practice yesterday, and my husband is helping coach, so he went with him, and I got to do Tina (aka TravelingMama's) Traveler's Inspiration Challenge. I have gotten to play in all of them so far, and I am glad because it has gotten me motivated to do some layouts again! Thanks Tina! The first challenge I had a card, here, but the other two I did a layout, here and here. This challenge I made a 8.5 X 11 layout first, then with the scraps, I made a card too! The inspiration picture is from the talented Savitri. I loved this picture and all the amazing colors in it, so that is where the inspiration came to me! I love this picture in the layout, my kids look like little models or something! :) The picture really just shows how much they love each other! That's where I got the title for the page, "Blessed". I am truly Blessed by them! :) I wanted the orangey background paper to look like the stucco wall, so I wadded my paper up and then smoothed it out and rubbed VersaMark watermark over it, and added some black like the hardware in the picture and of course the pop of red (my favorite part), and they had blue clothes on , but I added another little pop of blue too, and stitched some ribbon! And for the card I just used some scraps, with the same color scheme! So here they are! Supplies:
{Blessed- layout}
Paper-My Mind's Eye, white, black, & red cs
Stamp- Stampabilities-Polka Dot Background, Target $ spot-alphabet stamp
Ink-Versamark- watermark, StazOn-jet black, Versamark-white
Accessories- negative chipboard letter, white grosgrain ribbon, white thread- sewing machine, buttons- Bag-O-Buttons, white crocheting thread, circle punch

{HELLO card}
Paper-My Mind's Eye, white & black cs
Stamp- Stampabilities- Polka Dot Background, Studio G-HELLO, Studio G- owl
Ink- StazOn-jet black

Pretty Flowers & Cool Pears

Hey everyone! I wanted to share some pictures that I took the other day! Look how pretty these sunflowers are! I found them at WalMart, and just had to have them! I have never seen orange ones before. The other pictures are some pears that we picked from our new neighbor's pear tree! (Yes, she knew about it, she wanted us to pick them) :) I thought they just looked cool in the bowl on the counter! I have been playing around with my camera again, trying to figure out how everything works! I have heard that people put it in Manual Mode and not Automatic, I haven't figured that out yet, so it stays in Automatic! :) Does anyone have any advice on this? I would love some feed back! Oh, and look I have a watermark now! I think I might need a couple of different of colors though! I don't have the right program to make one, so I bought one from Karen. She even gives a tutorial on how to install it using the GIMP program, here. Go by and check it out, if you have been wondering how to install one, like I have! :) I'll be back tomorrow with some crafty stuff! Let me know what you think about these!Have a Blessed night!

August Calendar

Hey everyone! I was so inspired by Tina at TravelingMama's July calendar, that I made one too! I used similar colors, and used some more of the Try Before You Buy papers at PTI, and alot of Studio G stamps , and some SU! stamps, and some others. I can't wait to start using it! I think I'm going to put it in a page protector and use a dry erase marker to write on it, then when the month is over, just add some pictures and it turns into a scrapbook page! Thanks for the inspiration Tina! I wish I would have made these from the first of the year! :) Here's the calendar! Supplies: To many to list, if you have questions about something, let me know! :)

Traveler's Inspiration Challenge #3

Hey everyone! I wanted to share a layout that I made for the Traveler's Inspiration Challenge from Tina's blog. I can't tell you, how much this challenge has inspired me. (I guess that's the point, right?!) This week the picture comes from Amy at Tethered 2 Home . The life jacket just reminded me of our vacation last year to Destin, Florida. My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary and renewed our vows on the beach. It was also my husbands 30th birthday, so we all went Parasailing. I am a little freaked out about heights, so I had some sleepless night for about a month before! :) I needed to overcome that fear, so I decided to do it too. My husband had to go with me and then he went with the kids too. I was a wimp and only let them bring me 600 ft. in the air, but everyone else went 800 ft. At least I did it though, right?! You can tell by the picture, I was a little worried, look at my fingers crossed! This is where the title came from! :) My in-laws went on the trip too, and they bought a photo album with "Destin, Florida" on the front of it, for our anniversary. So I decided to start filling up the pages with our trip. I used lots of stitching again (surprised?), some of them remind me of waves! I hope to share more pages of this vacation, in the near future! Thanks for the inspiration Tina & Amy. Here's the inspiration picture!
Here's my page!
Here's a close up of the stitching (waves)!
Supplies:

Paper- My Mind's Eye, scraps from my stash
Accessories: white thread from sewing machine, black marker, Cricut for title

Cards- Happy Birthday

Hey everyone! I wanted to show some cards that I made the other day for my two twin nieces, they are turning 4 next month!, I can't believe it! They really don't look like twins, one has curly and darker hair (you can't tell from the picture) and the other one has straighter and lighter hair. One of them (the one on the right) looks like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitts daughter Shiloh, maybe that's her real twin! :) I spent the day with them a couple of weeks ago and took some pictures of them, they are getting so big! Kaylie is on the left and Kylie is on the right. Can you tell which one is shy and which one isn't? :) Aren't they so cute?!
OK, so here's the cards. Here's the inside. "Make A Wish!"

Supplies:
Paper-SU!
Stamps- Studio G
Ink-StazOn-jet black
Accessories- Square punch, Polka dot satin ribbon-Wal Mart, Glitter-Martha Stewart

Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #12

Hey everyone! I made some cards for Dawn's Color Challenge last night. PTI does the most ingenious thing, they let you "Try Before You Buy" their paper for free. All you have to do is go to their web site here and print it out. They have a lot of lines to choose from. I used the Raspberry Fizz Mix (my favorite one) and I printed it out on cream cs to stay with the color scheme. I was so excited about these printable papers, that I had to make more cards! I made 4 little gift cards, it was so fun to make these! I can't wait to make more projects with these printable papers! I had a hard time with the scarlet jewel color, I don't own PTI paper, so I had to search for that color in my paper stash. I hope it's close enough. OK, so here's the cards!

Blog Candy at Lawn Fawn Cards

Hey everyone! I wanted to let everyone know that a blog friend of mine, Kelly Marie, is giving away some awesome blog candy. Stop by her blog, for a chance to win and look at all of her cute cards! Thanks Kelly Marie! :)

KWerner Color Challenge #56

Hello! It's time for another color challenge over at Kristina's. I made two cards last night for the challenge, but I wanted to wait until today, so it was nice and sunny outside to take the pictures. Well I woke up this morning to a cloudy day, it hasn't been cloudy or rainy in over a month, until today! That's about right! :) Anyway I took them outside to get the best light, and this is the best I got! This card has been sitting on my desk for about a month, unfinished! I just needed to added a sentiment, some blue, and some lighter color leaves, and that's it! I used another SU! yellow cs for my base, because I don't have So Saffron. I made this card for a lady that we have known for years, and she just bought a house down the road from us. My husband has to go to her house to look at her A/C today, so I am sending this card along with some Cinnamon Streusel Quick Bread that my daughter baked last night.(She LOVES to bake!) Just a little gift to welcome her to the neighborhood!
ETA: The idea for the flower card came from the talented Ashley Newell.

Here is the bread I'm giving her too!

I made this card for my niece that has a birthday in October. (Can you believe, it's already finished?) I got the idea for this card from this blog! It has a little pocket for a gift card, or you could just put money in it, it's a great idea for any occasion! And of course it has sewing, which I LOVE! Supplies:
~Welcome To The Neighborhood Card~
Paper- SU! cs
Stamp- Stampabilities-Polka Dot Background
Ink- SU!- pumpkin pie, Versamark- watermark
Accessories- Martha Stewart- butterfly punch, orange satin ribbon, sentiment printed from computer, buttons from bag-o-buttons, white crocheting thread, handmade fabric flowers

~Happy Birthday Card~

Stamp- Autumn Leaves- PTI- mega mixed messages, hand drawn alphabet, Studio G- cupcakes

Ink- SU!- pumpkin pie, brocade blue
