The Big News!!!

Good morning everybody! I wanted to post this bright and early, because I just can't wait any longer! :) Well, I would like to introduce you to a new challenge! It is called........ The very talented Courtney, has asked a couple of us ladies to join her in this fun challenge, and now we are asking all of you to join us too! :) The rules to the challenge are, once a month one of the challenge hosts, will come up with an object from around the house, to use in a project. It can be a card, layout, or any kind of crafty project! This month, Courtney wants us to use something from the mail! You have from today until October 9th, to come up with a project! You will need to go over to Courtney's blog and submit your project in Mr. Linky! We will pick a winner and they will receive a $25.00 gift certificate to.....

Whoot! Whoot! :) I hope you all will join us for some fun! It really makes you get creative! I can't tell you, how much fun I had with the challenge!
I don't know about you, but I am still old schooling it! I still pay alot of our bills with a check book! :) So it was perfect timing, because it was time to pay bills, and that means, we get too much mail! For my card, I used the cellophane from the front of an envelope for the pocket, and the inside of our light bill, has these cute polka dots, and a credit card (not a real one, but one trying to sell me car insurance) for the little book mark! So here is a picture of the supplies I used.
Here my card!
The little book mark, comes out of the pocket.
Then the little fabric flower (I'm lovin' these things! :) ) with the "Go Green" pin can be taken off the bookmark and wore for St. Paddy's day or Earth Day! I am also going to submit this card to the CARDS challenge , we are to make a flower on our card!
So don't forget to go by Courtney's and submit your project in Mr. Linky! And go check out the other ladies too!

Merry Christmas

Hey everybody! Well I had a little time to make a card today! :) But I had to clean my house too, so I only made one! I made another Christmas card and used some Martha Stewart stamps I found at WalMart on clearance last year for only $2.00! I love clearance! :) I used some more of my Basic Gray paper that I had for awhile, I love that stuff! Look at what my sweet husband made for me! A light box! :) I found the idea over at Courtney's blog and with alot of help from Mariana, I finally have one! Thank You Ladies! Chance was such a trooper, measuring everything and cutting! :) Thank you baby! :) This will help so much, when the days are darker because of Winter time! :)
Well, I still have some exciting news to share on Wednesday! :) Here's a little hint!
Make sure you come back and check it out, I don't think you will be disappointed! And there is a gift card involved too! :)

Mosquitoes!!

Hey everyone! Well, how was ya'lls weekend? Mine was good, but busy! We had two football games at two different towns yesterday, so we were rushing to get from one game to the next! We went to Chace's game first, and you would not believe the mosquitoes! As soon as the stepped on the grass to play, they swarmed their legs! Someone had to go to the store to buy OFF! One of the coaches sprayed Chace's legs, but I don't think he sprayed them very well! He woke up this morning with about 50 bites on his legs (no joke), below the knee to the ankle! He said he only felt them a couple of times, I guess the mosquitoes are sneaky! :) He has never had that many! I know they are just bites, but please pray they will go away quickly with no infections! Remember, Autumn had one bite that turned into Staff! We have been cleaning them, extra good, and they really already look better! Praise God! :)
Well, I have been busy with some projects, and I have some really exciting news coming up this week too! So stay tuned for that! ;)
I don't have a card to show you tonight, but I hope to be back tomorrow with a card or two! :)

Night & God Bless!

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Hey everyone! WOW! I am so excited about being a part of the PTI Blog Hop! This is my first one, and I can't wait to see all the amazing inspiration! When I read that the challenge was to reuse some of the PTI packaging, I thought it would be so fun, because their packaging is amazing! So when you order their stamps, you get amazing stamps and packaging! Thanks PTI! :) I reused the clear box, the paper strip around the box, and the tissue paper!
Well, I am now addicted to the fabric flowers that Dawn posted on her blog a couple of days ago! Thanks Dawn! I love them sooo much! :) I needed a gift for my friends daughter. Her birthday is Monday and she will be 12. We are all going out to eat after church on Sunday, so I thought I would give her this cute little gift! She really likes little hair bows, so I thought I would make her some with clips, one on a headband, and one on a rubber band! I really liked how they turned out! ! So they are!
The flower comes off and has a hair clip on it!

My daughter liked them so much, that I had to make her one last night with the school colors, so she could wear it to the football game and school! :)

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge {Pretty Woman}

Hey everybody! Well, I finally got my PTI order in yesterday, and I haven't been able to put them down since! :) I love them! I got the new Signature Christmas and Vintage Labels. I also got the Polka Dots Basics II, I have been wanting that one for awhile, plus I got free shipping! :)
I received a comment from Brooke last week inviting me to come and play in the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge. The ladies have done an amazing job, because this is their 50th Challenge! :) This week's theme is the movie "Pretty Women"! I loved this show growing up, seeing them fall in love with each other! So I was excited to play! We are to do some type of paper piecing! I made two cards for the challenge! I really loved the brown polka dot dress in the movie, so I had to make a brown polka dot dress! I added some pearls for the pearl earrings she had on! I really like this card! :) Here is the first one!
Then on the next one... Her black patten leather thigh high boots kept coming to my mind, and the safety pin she had, holding the zipper up on one! :) I free handed the boots (not my style of boots), and stitched it to make it look like a zipper and added the safety pin! :) I used the colors in the outfit she had on with the boots! I wanted to make a card I could really use, so I made it into a Birthday card! I figured, with the tore up boot, it gives you a reason to go shopping! :) I also had to put the wadded up money all around in the picture, like she had all of her money when the Hotel manager helped her! Anyway, I really had a great time making these cards, and I hope ya'll go over and check it out! :)

{Embrace Happiness}

So I really need them to come in! :) Anyway, I have been making some other cards, while I wait! I loved this card that Dawn made, so I tried to do something similar! I love these holly berries, but I didn't have any leaves, so I printed a pattern from the computer and made my own! I really like how it turned out! So, here it is! I couldn't decided which pictures I liked more, so I just put both! :) Supplies:

Card- Happy Birthday

Hey everyone! Well I really need to get better about posting, or schedule some posts, or something! I have all intentions on doing it, but the time in the day, just flies by! :) I'm waiting on a order from PTI, so I can do some of the challenges that I have had my eye on! I hope it will be in on Monday! :)
So for today, I made a card for my son's friend. He was invited to a sleep over tonight after his football game! His friend also plays football, but he is from another town, so their colors are gold & black. Not very good for coloring! :) I used the cute little Sporty Billy stamp from Pink Cat Studio! I love these little stamps! I hand cut the field goal and the grass and printed out the sentiment from my computer! My husband went to drop him off at the party, I was still at Autumn's game, so he said the Birthday boy, thought the card was so neat! He loved it! :) I like when that happens, (maybe it won't go in the trash as quick)! :) So here it is!

Supplies:

Cardstock- (ColorBox)- green, (The Paper Studio)- white & black
Stamps- (Pink Cat Studio)- Sporty Billy

Ink- (StazOn)- jet black

Accessories- sentiment printed from computer, hand cut goal post and grass, Crayola color pencils

Have a Blessed night!

Moxie Fab- Household Item Challenge #2 & Good News

Hey everyone! Well I decided to play again in the Moxie Fab Challenge! We are to use a household item, and I figured everyone has a door or maybe... a few at home! :) So I had to think of a sentiment to go with a door, so I came up with... "God Never Closes One Door, Without Opening Another One!" Which is very fitting for me today! Well, I can officially say that none of my cards that I submitted were picked for the Paper Crafts magazine. I was a little upset, because I did spend alot of time on them, but maybe they weren't what they were looking for this time! I will have to try again next time! :) But, like my card says "God Never Closes One Door, Without Opening Another One!" Well, I received an email from CARDS magazine on Saturday, saying they wanted to publish one of my cards that I submitted to them! :) WOO HOO!!! It will be in the February 2010 edition! So I am VERY excited about that!! :) I wanted to leave you with a quote I heard on the radio today! "My disappointment will only sting if I let it!" So I will not let it sting me! God is so good, and gives me way more than I will ever deserve! So, Thank You Jesus, for always Blessing me and forgive me if I ever get ungrateful!
So I guess ya'll want to see the card now, right?! Here it is! :)
Supplies:
Cardstock- (Georgia Pacific)- white, (The Paper Company)- kraft & black
Patterned Paper- (Basic Grey)- Infuse Collection
Stamp- (All Night Media)- woodgrain
Ink- (Versamark)- watermark
Ribbon- (Offray)- black

Moxie Fab- Household Item Challenge

Hey everyone! Well I got to make some cards today! Yeah! :) I made this card for the Moxie Fab World Challenge! I am lovin' these challenges! We are to use a household item in a project. I had the idea to use a toothbrush, I figured everyone uses one at their house! Right?! :) I wanted to make a card that a child would receive from The Tooth Fairy when they loose a tooth. I just made up a little sentiment, made a toothbrush, and I have had the tooth cut out for a couple of years. The P.T.O. at school bought the teachers die cut machines and tons of die cuts a couple of years ago, and this is one of them! I made the tooth into a little pocket for the money! And the sentiment says: Two brushes a day, will keep the Dentist away! - The Tooth Fairy, And I really LOVE how it turned out! :)
I wanted to say Thank You again for all of the prayers for my family and the colds we've had, and for all the Congrats on my Moxie Fab Clean & Graphic Card Challenge win! Ya'll are too sweet! Well that's all for tonight, sorry for the short post, but I am really tired and ready for bed! So, here's the card!
Supplies:
Cardstock- SU!- yellow, Georgia Pacific- white
Patterned paper- Sassafras Lass- Me Likey
Ribbon- Wrights- white
Accessories- Tooth cut from die cut, toothbrush traced from little tooth brush, sentiment printed from computer (Wendy Medium)- font, pencil to draw bristles, dollar borrowed from my son (it's his tooth fairy money, but I did give it back!) :)

Garbage Dip

Hey everyone! Long time no post! :) Well I am still trying to get over this cold! I had my church family pray for me at church today! My head is still congested and I'm still coughing. I had some blood work done last week to see if it was viral or bacterial, so if it is bacterial, my Dr. wants to give me another antibiotic, but if it is viral, it will have to run it's course. I sure hope it is tired of running! :) I really don't want to have to take anymore medicine, I just want a complete healing, that only God can give! I am trying to wait on His time! :) Praise God, Chace is feeling so much better though! :)
If you are wondering what the title to this post means, it is a recipe I wanted to share with ya'll! It is one of my favorites! I know the name sounds gross and it even looks gross, but believe me, it is sooo GOOD! A lady from our church makes it, and she gave me the recipe. I make it and it is gone in two days, and I am usually the only one who eats it at my house! My husband and son don't like onions so they don't eat it and my daughter only eats a little bit of it with me. So I thought I would show you what it looks like, and share the recipe. Now, the bowl it's in, is only for the picture, I usually have a bigger bowl than this! :)
{And the recipe}
Combine:
1 small can chopped black olives
1 small can chopped green chilies
2 tomatoes, chopped
4 green onions, chopped
In a bowl, mix:
3 T vegetable oil
1/2 t white vinegar
1 t garlic salt
1/2 t salt
1/4 t black pepper
Pour mixture over vegetables & stir. Chill 2 to 3 hours. (I never wait that long!) :)
Serve with chips!

I hope ya'll try it, let me know if you do!
Have a Blessed Night!

Well I wasn't going to post this yet, but I saw a couple of other ladies posted theirs, so I thought, why not?! So here is mine too! :) I received an email a couple of weeks ago, from sweet Lynnette, telling me about Kelly's birthday coming up, and she thought it would be nice to send her cards! I thought that was a great idea, but then I thought, what am I going to make? It is harder to make another crafter a card, but I knew I wanted it to be bright and fun, just like her! :) So, this is what I made! I hope she likes it & Happy Birthday Kelly! :)

Many Thanks & A Rockin' B-Day Card

Hey everyone! I want to first say, Thanks so much for all of the Prayers & well wishes for our family! PRAISE GOD!! Chace is doing sooo much better today! I have only had to give him Tylenol once today, because his temp. got to 99.7 and his throat hurt. I am going to keep him home one more day from school, because he did have a low grade fever today and I think he still needs a little more rest! We have been working on all of his homework, that was sent home! 3rd grade is alot harder now, than it was when I was in 3rd grade!
I also want to say Thank You for all of the sweet comments & Congrats that were sent my way, for my card being picked for the Clean & Graphic Challenge over at Moxie Fab! I really had a great time playing in those challenges, even when I was sick! :)
And I wanted to share a card, that I made today, for my nephew's 14th birthday tomorrow! I can't believe he will be that old! I remember the day he was born at 4lbs. 9ozs. ! :)
So for the card I made it a rockin' kind of card! My nephew is very musical, just like my brother! My brother bought him a little Gibson Les Paul when he was about 2! He learned how to play it, but then he got more interested in drums! He was REALLY good on drums, but then he got into the keyboard! I don't have a drum or keyboard stamp, but I do have a guitar stamp! So I made the guitar black with little metal stars, because his was black and I used the wood grain, because alot of guitars are made out of wood, and it goes good with masculine cards, and simply because I like wood grain! :) I printed the sentiment from my computer, because I liked the font. Ok, how do ya'll like that guitar strap?! I love it! And, that is pretty much it! So I hope ya'll like it! :)
ETA: I wanted to let everyone know that Savitri is giving away some blog candy over at her blog! Go by and check it out, she is being very generous! :)
Supplies:
Cardstock- green, cream, black, & white
Stamp- Making memories- Boys Just Chillin' Collection, All Night Media- wood grain
Ink- StazOn- jet black, Versamark- watermark
Accessories- metal, star punch, Sentiment printed from computer, silver ribbon from stash, small metal brads- The Paper Studio, clear embossing powder
Have a Blessed night!

The Fever Scare

Ok, what is it about kids and fever on Friday nights right after the Dr.'s office closes, late at night, or Holiday's when the Dr.'s office is closed? My kids seem to have fit in everyone of those categories sometime in their lives! :) As you all know, we have been sick around here. Chace has been running fever, and we have been waiting for the Dr's office to open after a long weekend for him to be seen! Well last night about 10:00 pm, he starts feeling really bad, so I checked his temp and it was 101.3, so I gave him a dose of Advil so he could go to bed. Well he laid on the couch for almost an hour, but still he was looking bad. So I checked his temp. again and it was 103.1, I started to get a little worried, so he went back into the luke warm bath. After that, I put him back on the couch and took his temp again, IT WAS 105.3!!! I Know, I was FREAKING OUT!! I thought I looked at it wrong, maybe that 5 was a 2. I said OH MY GOSH! Chace said what is it, I told him he didn't need to know! I took it again and it was 105.0. I went and got every thermometer we own, and was testing them out, Chance was getting all his A/C, thermometer gadgets! I told him this wasn't a science experiment! :) He went back into the bath, for as long as he could stand it! It started to go down, little by little. A few minutes later, it was 103.4. I had my shoes on and my purse on my shoulder, ready to go to the hospital! My husband said, give it 15 more minutes, if it's not down will go. Well PRAISE GOD!!!!! It started going down and we finally got to breathe easier and go to bed! I say bed, I set my alarm every hour to take his temperature! So I didn't get much sleep. Then I had to go to the Dr. at 8:00 am for myself. Chace's Dr. couldn't see him and mine couldn't either, so I took him to a new pediatric office, that my Dr. suggested! They were really good there! Well my diagnosis was right, he has Strep. She said his tonsils were really red and really big! So I guess his tonsils will be taken out soon! Autumn had Strep so much, that she had to get hers out last December! Well, I guess that's enough of my drama! I just ask for continued prayers for us, and that his fever doesn't get like that again! That is too SCARY for me!! Thank you all for the prayers already! Sorry for not posting a card today, I did make one, but I can't post it yet! :)
If you read all of this, you are a sweet blog friend! :) Thanks!

Have a Blessed night!

New Blog Look

Hey everyone! Well I still haven't been out of the house since I've been sick! I have to go to the Dr. tomorrow and try to get Chace in to the Dr. too! He is still running fever and is complaining about his throat hurting! I think it might be Strep, but I sure hope not! His fever was not going down with the medicine today, so he had to take a good 'ol luke warm bath, to get it down, because he was feeling pretty bad! But, praise God, it came down after a little while and it went back to normal! So I guess I will be at the Dr.'s office all morning tomorrow! I just want to get over this stuff, I feel like I have lost a week! Chace and I didn't even get to go to church yesterday, so my week will be off, not knowing what day it is! :)
Well I didn't get to craft today, but I am doing some changes to the blog! The picture on the blog title is from our vacation to New Mexico the year. That is Autumn snowboarding! Isn't that view beautiful! I couldn't enjoy it that much, I was hollering at my son to snowboard away from the edge! There is no rails, it was SCARY!!!! So please hang in there with me, I'm still learning! :) Well I hope to get some crafting done tomorrow after Dr. visits, I guess I can bring my sketch book, while I wait! :) Please keep our family in your prayers, for a quick recovery! Thanks so much for all the well wishes already! :)

Have a Blessed night!
