EBTKS # 18 - Old School Boom Box

Good morning! It's time for another Around the House challenge at the EBTKS blog! This week the host is Ann! :) She challenged us to use "Aluminum foil"! This was my first idea when I thought of using foil. Did ya'll ever put foil on the end of the antenna on a radio so the reception would be better? I sure did! It reminds me of my life growing up in the 80's & 90's and listening to the radio and also the cassette player! It is so "Old School"! :)
Our sponsor this week is Wplus9. I was so excited when I heard this, because seriously... everybody needs some of Dawn's stamps! They are so fun! In fact, she is having sneak peeks this week, so stop by the WPlus9 blog and check them out! In fact, I need to order me some more too! :)
I used her stamps for this card. I used the Love Birds & the Just a Note sets! And I think they really work great together! Don't you think?! I just love the antenna! :) I even used a stamp from the Just a Note set to make the antenna first! Supplies: Cardstock- (PTI) raspberry fizz, white, true black, smokey shadow ; Stamps- (Wplus9) Love Birds & Just a Note ; Ink- (SU!) pink passion & basic black, (ColorBox) silver ; Other- aluminum foil, buttons, (Martha Stewart) circle cutter
I hope you will all stop by the EBTKS blog to play along with us in the challenge and you can check out all the designers cards and get all the details about the challenge.

Have a Blessed day!

Embellish Challenge- Congrats On Your New Little Bundle's'

Hey everybody! I am still without my computer, Thank goodness my sweet husband has been letting me use his! We took my computer apart yesterday to look and see if there was a bad connection or something, and we think it might be the plug! We have had a lot of trouble with it before and this is already the 3rd cord! I am praying that this one can be fixed, because I really don't want to buy another one, when it works fine otherwise! (And I could buy more stamps with the money!) :) So I have to call about a new cord tomorrow.

I have wanting to play in the Embellish challenge for so long, but it always seems that I run out of time, or just so busy that I don't have time to play at all. So today I had a little time to make a couple of cards and I decided to make one for the challenge. A friend of ours asked me to be praying for their cousin who is having Triplets! I was thinking about them when I made it and I decided to give it to our friend to give to the "Parents to be"! I mean come on...Hallmark doesn't make alot of "Congrats on your Triplets! cards" :) So I made them a custom made one! I hope they like it !

I just love these little onesies! I bought the stamp at Micheal's for $1.00! I love a great deal!

The cardbase is cream, not having my original photo editing programs are a little aggravating. So just take my word, it is cream. :) And it didn't help that it has been raining most of the day so it was very cloudy. I had to make the word "Bundle" plural with a "S"! Since there are 3! :)
Supplies: Cardstock- (PTI) Vintage cream, melon berry, lemon tart, spring moss ; Stamps- (Studio G) onesies, (PTI) sentiment- Signature Greetings, (Lawn Fawn) "S" Harold's ABC ; Ink- (Versafine) stem green, (Versamark) watermark ; Ribbon- (Offray) Antique white, (JoAnn's) lace, (American Crafts) clear embossing powder

Have a Blessed day!

Sweet Sixteen card

Hey everybody! Well I am here today with a card for my Sweet and Beautiful niece Morgan. Yesterday was her Sweet Sixteen Birthday! I made her a video of her life thus far and I must say it makes me cry! It is so hard to see them grow up so fast! :(
I also made her a card. When I was that age, you could get your license at 16. I had my own car at 15 and yes I would drive it illegally! ;) But now days, you get a permit at 16 or something! My niece Monica (Morgan's sister) just got her license on her 18th Birthday. They did Drivers Ed at home and had some set backs and she just got her license. She got a car for Graduation, so now she is able to drive it legal! :)
So that was my inspiration for the card, to be able to drive a car! :) I had this idea for a Sweet Sixteen Birthday card, soon after I saw Courtney's Key To My Heart set and then when she did the You're the Man set....I just fell in LOVE! They work so well together! I love when that happens! :)
I added a crown to the card two! Every girl should feel like a princess on their 16th Birthday! :)
I am having some issues with my laptop! The battery and the plug-in aren't working correctly, (and haven't for over a year), so I think it is about time for a new laptop! I don't like "change", but I would like for my battery to charge right and I don't think it can be fixed! Our computer guy said that it is the charger post inside! :( So I don't think I will be on it much! I am on Chance's now and it feels so weird! I need to start looking for another one!

This is our first 'Free' weekend in awhile! I think we better mow our grass! Our lawnmower and weed eater have been broke (all from employees), either hitting something or putting the wrong gas in it! :( When we are slow, they would mow and clean up around the shop. But we haven't been slow lately! It is HOT here in Texas! So our grass is HIGH!!!!

I also want to ask for prayer about a situation. Our employee of 3 yrs. gave his 2 week notice this week. He thinks he got a better job offer. We think differently. For a A/C business...this is hard! We are Extremely busy and for your help to leave in the middle of the Summer is a nightmare! We were very shocked by the news! But we don't put our faith in our employees, we put them in the Lord, so we are trusting Him to send an even better one! :)

>I hope ya'll have a very Blessed weekend, I'm going to mow!

Happy Birthday Chance!

Good morning! Well I'm a day late posting this. Yesterday was a Chance's Birthday, but it was busy so I didn't get to post anything. Having a A/C business in Texas keeps us very busy! So I was answering alot of calls and Chance was doing alot of service calls! So we didn't see too much of him during the day, but Chace did have a game that evening. It is about a hour drive, so we got to spend a little bit of time with him. Chace's team didn't win! :( But they did SO good! We were a better team than the one we played, but the umpires had some bad calls and it just didn't work out! So we are out of the tournament and done with the season! But they are an AMAZING team! :)

I wanted to share a pic of Chance on his 3rd Birthday! I think it is my favorite of him! Look at the blonde hair! :)
And here is a card I made him yesterday. I used my Practicing Creativity -You're the Man stamp set. Great for guy cards! Chance's favorite colors are grey and black, so I had to add a pop of blue in there too! :)
And a close-up of the nuts.Supplies- Cardstock- (PTI) Smokey shadow & white ; Stamps- (Practicing Creativity) You're the Man ; Ink- (SU!) basic black & brocade blue ; Other- nuts, corner rounder, embroidery floss

ETA- I also submitted this card to the Play Date Cafe Challenge!

There is still a couple of days for the EBTKS sketch challenge. Hope you will stop by and play! :)
Have a Blessed day!

My Love & The Best Baby Daddy EVER

Hey everybody! Well today is a Big day at our house! Not only is it Father's Day, but it is our 12 yr. Wedding Anniversary. Chance truly is my soul mate, best friend, my love, and so much more! God Blessed me so much when he brought him into my life! I only dreamed of a life like this, a great husband, and wonderful, loving kids like I have. They are SO Amazing! :)
I wanted to share a pic of our wedding, but my pics are put up and I didn't feel like dragging them out! :) But here is a picture of us after a wedding that Chance performed a couple of yrs. ago. It really shows the love we share! :) I also added a sentiment to the pic that was very similar to the one on our wedding invitations. It reads, "My friend, who I laugh with, live for, dream with, love." I love it so much! :) He is also THE BEST BABY DADDY EVER! Really...he is! :) Autumn loves her Daddy SO much! Can you tell?! :) She left for church camp yesterday, and she was a little upset that she wasn't going to spend Father's Day, our Anniversary, and her Daddy's birthday with us! But learning more about Jesus is SO much more important! She made her Daddy a birthday card and us an Anniversary card and gave it to us the night before she left! :) So we will see her on Wednesday, I miss her already! :(
And here is a pic from yesterday at Chace's tournament. He was giving Chace a pep talk, I guess it worked because Chace scored the first run after that! :) They lost 6 to 5, but they did so good! They were losing in the last inning 5 to 0 and they came back and tied it up 5 to 5 and then the other team had last bat, so they scored one! :( But they made us all so proud! They will be playing again today after church.
But this pic is one of the reasons why he is the BEST DAD EVER! He is so supportive of the kids (all kids) and coaches them, teaches them, and spends so much quality time with them!
My Dad passed away when I was young, so our memories were cut short. :( But Chance really is the Dad I always wanted! He loves them so much! We are so Blessed to have him!
Here is a card I made a couple of weeks ago. Very simple, but that's how Chance likes it! :) I love this set too! :)
Supplies- Cardstock- (PTI) Ripe Avocado & white, (The Paper Company) gray ; Stamps- (Practicing Creativity) You're the Man ; Ink- (ColorBox) chalk charcoal, (PTI) Fresh snow ; embroidery floss

Well that's it today, we are going to church and then to Chace's game, so I'm sure it will be a fun filled day! :)

Have a Blessed day!

Gallery Idol results

Good morning! Well I just woke up at 8:00 am, to go to the computer to find the Top 10 on Gallery Idol. The results post at 5:00 am here, but I guess my body had other plans and kept sleeping! So I found out that I didn't make it to the Top 10, but I really am so proud of myself for making the Top 15! :) I am a very competitive person, and in this competition I didn't freak out or stress at all! Seriously, it was really amazing to me that I didn't! I felt ok with moving on to the next round or not. In this competition I really wanted people to vote for favorite cards, and not for "me" or others just because we are friends! So I didn't ask for votes for myself, I didn't vote or let my husband vote! So I feel good about the results, and that if I didn't move on it's because others work was just better. And I really feel ok with that! I watch American Idol and I LOVE it, but I see so many times that the popular votes move on, I wanted to move on because I was good enough...and this time I wasn't! And that's ok too! :) Thank you to everyone who voted for me and gave me such sweet comments! It means alot! :)
The next round would have been fun though. It was working with ribbon...which I LOVE, and I have actually been getting my scraps out and trying new stuff with them! :)
So now I am excited about actually voting! I can't wait to see what they come up with! Congrats Top 10! It been great getting to know ya'll!
So now that I don't have to think about a new project for the Idol, I am going to spend the day with my kids! Autumn leaves for Church camp tomorrow for 5 days, (I'm going to miss her!) :(
And Chace starts his All Star Tournament too and it could last till next Thursday!
So it is going to be a busy weekend and week already! Not to mention that Chance has a wedding to do today, we have Father's Day and our 12 yr. Wedding Anniversary on Sunday, and Chance has a Birthday on Monday! Busy! Busy! :)
And don't forget, EBTKS has a sketch up this week and it came from inspiration from my craft area! I hope ya'll will stop by and check it out! :)

Have a Blessed day!

Guest Blogger- I miss you already

Hey everybody! I am so excited about today's post! Tina from Travelingmama asked me to be a guest blogger on her blog! Her and her family just moved to Denmark and she needed a few of her friends to help her out...and of course I said yes! I have been enjoying reading her blog for a long time, way before I had my own blog! So I was happy to help! :)
I made a "going away" type card for her move. I really like how it turned out, if I say so myself! :)

EBTKS #17- Sketch Challenge

Good morning! I'm the host on the EBTKS this week and I have a new sketch challenge fun you! The inspiration is from my new wooden stamps storage. It is really a CD holder, bu I needed some room for my wooden stamps. And this works great! And it was on clearance for $9.00 at the $ store! I love good deals! :)
So I thought it would be a simple sketch to use the little black drawer with the cut out circle. Here is the inspiration pic.
The sketch.
And the card.
The inside.I bought this Studio G stamp set and LOVE it!

Supplies: Cardstock- (PTI) pure poppy & white ; Stamps- (Studio G) ; Ink- (SU) yoyo yellow & basic black, (ColorBox) warm red ; Ribbon- (Offray) red gingham ; Other- (Sizzix) scallop die, (Cricut) circle cut out

Gallery Idol Top 15

Hey everybody! Well today I have my card for the next round of Gallery Idol. I woke up Friday morning to find that I had moved on in the competition and we had to make a masculine card with a garage element. I had an idea quickly after that and I started making it. I had it finished by Friday night and took pictures of it Saturday and edited all my pics. Well I knew that I needed to make a collage because the card was interactive. Let me just say... that I tried EVERY program on my computer! We were required to make it a certain size, so my programs weren't cooperating! All of them were to small! The one on the gallery is still smaller than I would like, but I had to stay in the right dimensions. I even tried to download a free trial PhotoShop Elements to make a different collage, (it took over two hours to download) and it still wouldn't work! So after Chace's baseball end of the season party Sunday afternoon, I came home and figured it out and got it posted! So I thought it was going to be an easy process... and I was TOTALLY wrong! :( I seriously need to learn more about photo editing! So anyway...enough of my whining! Here is my card.

I got the inspiration from Chance's truck! He sure loves that truck, so I thought I would make him a "mini" truck for Father's Day! :)
I didn't want to make a regular folding card, so I hide the rest of the sentiment behind the tail gate.
I used my Practicing Creativity stamp set You're the Man, for my tread on my tires and for my license plate and replaced the screws with real ones. I used a transparency sheet for the back glass and for the tail lights. And I just had to make a tree air freshener! ;)
Here are some close-ups. You can see the tire tread good in this one!

Supplies: Cardstock- (PTI) pure poppy, white, true black , (SU!) red & orange, (ColorBox) green , (DCWV) silver ; Stamps- (Practicing Creativity) You're the Man , (Studio G) Father's Day ; Ink- (SU!) basic black, (Versamark) watermark ; Other- Transparency sheet, (American Crafts) clear embossing powder, black marker, screws

Don't forget to stop by the Gallery to vote for your favorite card!

And tomorrow is a new EBTKS sketch challenge!

Have a Blessed day!

just wavin' hello & Gallery Idol results

Hey everybody! Well today was the results for the Gallery Idol's top 15! And....I'm still in it! Woo Hoo! :) Thank you for all the Congrats, encouragement, and votes! Congrats to all of the top 20, it has been so fun and I LOVE all the chatting we get to do! (Kelley, you will still be hearing from me! Love you!)

Now it's time to make a masculine card for the next round! I am actually excited about it! I have been sketching out some ideas in my sketch book and I can't wait to start it! :)

I wanted to share a card that I made yesterday when my new Lawn Fawn stamp sets came in. I am in love with both of them! Kelly Marie and her team are genius when it comes to the Harold's ABCs set! It has everything you would want and more in a set! I love to come up with my own sentiments, and this set works great for that. You can line all the letters up together and the spacing is perfect and there are extra letters in case you need more at once. (Perfect) :) I will be sharing a card soon with that set.

I also LOVED that big headed whale when I saw the release for the Critters in the Sea and I had to have it! So it was the first one I inked up! :) Just look at him! :)

Supplies: Cardstock- (PTI) spring rain, (ColorBok) gray ; Stamps- (Lawn Fawn) Critters in the Sea & Harold's ABC's ; Ink- (ColorBox) charcoal, (PTI) fresh snow, (SU!) brocade blue ; Other- corner rounder

Well that's it for today! I am off to do a little house work and start on my masculine card! :)

Hope ya'll have a Blessed day! :)

Monica's Graduation Invitations

Hey everybody! Well I am finally going to share my nieces Graduation invitations that I made and a couple of other things for her. Today is her 18th Birthday too! :) Happy Birthday Mon! :)
I found some ideas for invitations online and then I sent the ideas to my niece to see which one she liked the best. She choose the one that was similar to this one and I made a example invite and she LOVED it! So this is the one we went with! We used some pics that I took of her and a pic of her on her 2nd Birthday! :) She came over one weekend and helped me with them and then my sister (her mom), came over and helped assemble them! They were a BIG help to me! :) So here is the front, (that is a white background, it's not part of the invite).

Here is the back. We made it like a note card.
Here is the Congrats card I made her for Graduation night. And it matches the invites! :) Here is a close up.
Here is a little something I put together for her too. It's of some of her favorite Senior pics and a invite for her to keep. I really like how it turned out and so did she! And don't forget to check out Paper Crafts blog on Monday for the Gallery Idol! I can't wait! :) Well I am going home. Monica's Senior Pics

Hey everybody! Well today I wanted to dedicate this post to my sweet niece Monica! She will be graduating High School tomorrow and I honestly can't believe this day has come! It seems like yesterday she was born! She was my first niece and she was always with us growing up! I was in Jr. High when she was born, so it was like she was my little sister I never had! :)

She called a couple of month's ago and asked if I would make her Graduation Invitations (I will be sharing those tomorrow). I told her that I would be honored to make them! So we decided on invites with pictures, so that meant I had to become a photographer too! So we had different outfits in the car and we went to a couple of different locations to take them. Here are a few that I took and I used my new program called Picnik, to personalize them and she handed these out as wallets to her friends! I love to make things that no one else has, so it was alot of fun to make the invites and pictures, that you knew no one else had! And she loved it too! She said her friends were going to be jealous! She is too funny! :)

It was very easy to take her pics because she is so photogenic! I am still learning how to use this camera and I would love to take a class so I could really learn to use it right! I would ask her a question about how she wanted the invites or something about the pics and she would say, "However you think, you are the professional!" That was just hilarious...me the professional?! :)

Autumn took this one with Monica's camera. Isn't it so pretty?! :)

These last two are my favorite! Monica loves to wear little tutu's, so I think these pictures really capture her fun personality!

She really doesn't ride a skateboard, but we thought it would be a fun prop! (Thanks Chace!) :)

I really did have a great time doing this! I hope ya'll will check out that FREE photo editing program! It really is easy and so fun! :)

Hope ya'll have a Blessed day!
