2016 "Cards From the Heart Card Drive" Totals

Hey everybody! Well the cards have been packaged and shipped off to the hospitals and foster homes! This has been the busiest one yet!!! As I stated in my earlier post, I have lost LOTS of sleep on the drive this year! There were alot of hours put into it! I'm Extremely Thankful for my daughter and for all of her help with sealing up the cards! After helping for the past 7 years...she's getting fast at it! :) And Thank you to my husband for taking up my slack, while I've been busy! :)
I want to Thank everyone for all the cards that were sent in, for the money you spent on shipping them to me, I want to thank everyone who sent money for shipping (you did not have to do that!), but I appreciate it so much! And a BIG thank you to Kari for donating all of the clear envelopes! How thoughtful is that?! I also want to Thank all of the Sponsors for donating the prizes! I really couldn't do this without all of you! Thank you for making the 7th year another success!  :)

And what ya'll have all been waiting for...the Totals!  4,707 cards!!!! Isn't that Amazing?!!! I'm just Amazed at all of your generosity! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

Here is a list of Hospitals & Foster homes I sent them to. We lost one hospital this year, but when I received so many cards, I sent out about 15 emails to new hospitals and I heard back from 4 and they all accepted cards. I am going to have to find more places to send them for next year, we are getting more cards and not enough places to send them! I don't want to send them more than they need. Thank goodness for Tx. Children's Hospital, they accept all that we have left over! So I will be trying to find more hospitals throughout the year!

*St. Jude Children's Hospital
*TX Children's Hospital
*Nationwide Children's Hospital
*St. Joseph's Children's Hospital of Tampa
*St. Louis Children's Hospital Foundation
*UF Health Shands Children's Hospital
*Cook Children's Medical Center
*Shriners Hospital for Children
*-Galveston
*-Houston
*-Cincinnati
*-Northern California
*-Shreveport
*-Boston
*-Salt Lake City
*-St. Louis
*Akron Children's Hospital
*Seattle Children's Hospital
*Sinclair Children's Center (foster home)
*Pendleton Place (foster home)

That's 17 Hospitals and 2 Foster Homes! This makes me happy, because I know that more kids are receiving a little more love this Valentine's Day! :) There were several times that I got emotional when I checked the mail and saw all of the packages! It was a very humbling feeling to know that all of you, believed in this ministry! <3 nbsp="" p="" thank="" you="">
Here are some more picks of all the shipments. I forgot to take a pic of the 2nd shipment. Oops! :/
3rd Shipment:
 4th Shipment:

5th Shipment: This box was HUGE!!!! It weighed 51 lbs! I had to get my husband to go with me to carry it! :/

I still need to draw names for the prizes, please bare with me! My baby girl is having her Basketball Senior night tomorrow night at her last ever Basketball game :'( , so I've been getting the Seniors gifts made and my daughter's memory display table ready. I haven't had time to work on any of it, because of being so busy with the Card Drive, so now I'm doing everything last minute! :/ But I have my blog post already ready, so all I have to do is draw the names and then send out the emails, so it shouldn't take long. Well I'm off to work on more of the Senior night projects. I'll be back soon for the prize winner post!
And Thank you all for making this year another success! :)

God Bless you all! ,

First Shipment Sent!

Hey everybody! Sorry for the lack of posts, as you can imagine...it's been BUSY to say the least! I've missed hours of sleep, meals, and fresh air outside, as I counted and packaged cards, sent tons of emails and so many other tasks, but I absolutely wouldn't change it for the world! Thank you all so much for sending in cards! Here is the first batch of cards I sent off yesterday! We have had SO many cards come in this year, that I sent out about 15 emails to new hospitals, in hopes that they would want some cards! :) I've gotten a couple of emails back and they have accepted (YAY!), but I am still waiting to hear from some more, before I send the rest of them to Texas Children's, who always accepts as many as we sent, since they see so many kids daily! So please pray that I get more emails back, so we can get these cards to more kids! :)

Well it's back to work for me, there is still tons to do and I need to run a couple of errands. I can't WAIT to tell you all the totals! :)

Have a Blessed day!,

Just checking in and a few cards

Hey everybody! Just checking in to let you know how things are going! I'm still collecting cards, slowly but surely. Thank you to all those who have already sent some in, they are so cute! :)
If you are still wanting to send in cards, there is still time! I need the cards by
Jan. 30, so I have plenty of time to get them in the mail to the hospitals! There was an issue with some of the shipping last year, on a couple of packages, so I need to get them all out even sooner this year. So this would be a great project of this cold weekend and then get them in the mail to me next week! :)
I wanted to share a few of my cards I made. I love these images so much! They make me smile and I hope they do the same for the kids! :)

Alright, I need to get back to working on cards and my kids have basketball games tonight, so it's going to be another busy day! :)
Have a Blessed day everybody!

2016 "Cards From the Heart Card Drive"

Card Drive is now Closed!!!

Happy New Year! :) It's time for the 7th Annual Valentine's Day Card Drive!

It's my Blogs 7 year anniversary this month, and I don't know a better way to celebrate it, but having another Card Drive for all those precious kids on Valentine's Day! I will be collecting cards for many Hospitals and hope to add more! :)
Last year's Card Drive was another HUGE success! We collected 3,971 cards and sent them to 12 hospitals, 2 orphanages, and to a little girl who was fighting cancer and to her two brothers. I'm happy to report that she is doing Great! :) I'm praying that this years card drive, is even better and reaches even more kids! :)

As always, here are some of the guidelines from the hospital's and a few of mine.
(Please read carefully.)
* Cards need to be a Valentine theme.
* Cards can't have anything about 'Get Well Soon', 'Feel Better', or anything reminding them of being sick. (Only Valentine Cards)
* Please make cards that can be used for any gender or age. (This could be a little tricky, but I think you can handle it!) :)
* NO buttons, glitter, sequins, rhinestones, brads, or anything that can be pulled off and become a choking hazard.
* Cards MUST be able to fit into a 4 1/2 X 5 3/4 envelope (A2 size, but can be smaller, just not bigger). I CANNOT use them if they are bigger! (I will provide clear envelopes for each card, so there is no need to send an envelopes with your card.) The clear envelopes make it easier when they hand them out to the kids.
* You can include a message in the inside, but please remember, nothing reminding them of being sick. (Maybe just a Valentine sentiment.) You can also sign your first name and what state you are from ONLY, no last names and cities! No religious sentiments either, as most of the hospitals are non denominational in their beliefs.
* And Do Not add your blog addresses to your cards! Some hospitals have rules against patients knowing who the donors are.
*I will be excepting cards for the whole month of January. (Jan. 1 - Jan. 30) Please do not send any after that, because I have to send them off early, so they will get to the hospitals in time for Valentine's Day. And please make sure you allow enough time for shipping as well. At the end of the month, I will draw names for prizes. The more cards you send, the more times your name goes into the drawing to win prizes. Let your kids get involved too! I will be adding more prizes and sponsors, often.  :)
* Please send a piece of paper with your name, address, email address, and the amount of cards you sent. (It will help when I have the drawings.) A lot of the prizes will be sent from the sponsor, so I NEED to have your email address for sure!
*And Please NO smoking around the cards! You may not realize that they smell like smoke, but they do and it could effect the children who are already sick!

*Please send cards to me at:

Winter Sims
"Cards From the Heart Card Drive"
P.O. Box 754
Warren, TX 77664

* If anyone wants to donate a prize for the drawings, please email me with the details at wintersims1@aol.com .
*You are welcome to use the Card Drive badge on your blog to spread the word, just remember to save it to your computer first.

*If you have a hospital in mind that might want some cards, please send me the contact info and I will email them.

I know it seems like there are A LOT of rules, but they are the hospital's rules and we want to obey them, to keep the kids safe. So I hope you will join us again for another great year and help us put some smiles on those sweet kids faces on Valentines Day! :)
