Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #21

Hey everybody! I tell you what, I am so glad the card calls are finished! I have been working on those for about a week, knowing I have so many other things to do too! WOW, it's alot of work, but I bet it will be so worth it, when I see one of my cards in print! I have my first card being published in CARDS this February! WOO HOO! I thought it would never get here! :)

I made this card for Dawn's Color Challenge, last week, but I am just now posting it! I really loved the colors, they just screamed baby boy to me! So I took a break on the St. Jude cards, and made a baby card! :) Doesn't that twine in the button, look like a bird over the sun? My husband pointed that out, I thought it was pretty cool! :) And look what came in the mail today! My kids usually check the mail at the post office, well now we have two boxes, so they take turns checking the boxes. Well, today they were SUPER excited when they came out of the Post Office! They could hardly hold all of the packages! Today we got 46 cards in! Just Amazing! Thank you all so much! :) Here are the packages from today.
Also, I wanted to mention, that my card, got Honorable Mention for best use of leaves, over at Nichole Heady's blog! I have never participated in the challenge before, so it was so fun to get mentioned! Thanks Nichole! :)

Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #12

Hey everyone! I made some cards for Dawn's Color Challenge last night. PTI does the most ingenious thing, they let you "Try Before You Buy" their paper for free. All you have to do is go to their web site here and print it out. They have a lot of lines to choose from. I used the Raspberry Fizz Mix (my favorite one) and I printed it out on cream cs to stay with the color scheme. I was so excited about these printable papers, that I had to make more cards! I made 4 little gift cards, it was so fun to make these! I can't wait to make more projects with these printable papers! I had a hard time with the scarlet jewel color, I don't own PTI paper, so I had to search for that color in my paper stash. I hope it's close enough. OK, so here's the cards!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #11

Hey, I'm back again! It's time for another color challenge from Dawn. My daughter loves to draw and sketch dress designs, so I wanted to make her a little design sketch book. Kristina made a book a couple of days ago, and she left a link for the pages inside. I also liked the dress on this card, so I tried to create a dress to go on the book, since it is for dress designs! :) I plan on making me one of these books too for cards and layouts. It was a little hard for me to use red in this challenge, but I guess it worked out! I also had a fight with the stapler, I think it won! :) I wanted it to have clean edges, but while I was stapling the book together, the staple messed up and tore the paper. So I just distressed all the edges and added some stitching, and I think it kind of reminds me of frayed edges and stitching that fabric would have! I really need the stapler that swivels around! Anyway, here is the book!

Here is the inside.

Supplies:

Paper- ColorBok cs

Stamp- Autumn Leaves- Hand drawn alphabet, Studio G- high heels

Ink-StazOn-jet black

Accessories- hand drawn dress, flower punch, black satin ribbon, green grosgrain, pink with black polka dots grosgrain ribbon, black marker for lines and dots, Heidi Swapp distressor, Fiskars scallop template, inside pages- KWerner Design, staples

Have a Blessed day!

Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #10

ETA: Well for some reason the last three weeks when I go to post my link to Dawn's Challenge, it links to my Blogger account! I don't know why it's doing it, it never has in the past, so anyway it was posted in time, but I don't know if that still counts. I did leave a comment for Dawn, so we'll see! I usually check to make sure it works, but I was trying to beat the deadline, and it did show my name, so I guess I just assumed it worked! I just wish everyone could see my sweet little girl in her dress that matches perfect for the challenge!! :) Oh well, it will be alright either way! :)
NEW ETA:Dawn saved the day, it works now! Thanks Dawn!! :)

Here's a quick post again! I decided to do a layout with these colors from Dawn's color challenge. I have been wanting to send a picture of this dress to Kristina, for her color challenge, it really has great colors, so now I don't need to send it, the colors Dawn picked are perfect! :) I made my daughter "Autumn" dress-up to take this picture! How cute is she, and those shoes?! I'm glad our feet are the same size! :) I don't know about ya'll, but it is really hard to take pictures of layouts! Does anyone have any secrets to make them better? If you do, please let me know! Thanks! :)

Supplies:
Paper- melon, cream, berry, dark brown cs
Ink-ColorBox Chalk Ink- dark brown
Accessories- handmade flowers, buttons- Paper Studio, dark brown marker, Thicker letters, Heidi Swapp- distressor

Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #9

Here's a quick post for Dawn's Color Challenge! I'm trying to get it in before the deadline ends! I'll be back later with the detail's!!

ETA:
OK, I'm back! Sorry, It seemed like everything that could go wrong with making this card, did go wrong!! :) I found the design idea from here. When I saw her card it almost had the same colors, so I thought it would be perfect for this challenge! Her card is way better than mine, but hey, I tried! First of all I found a pear on my computer to print out and make a template from, then I realized, I had no black thread! So I ran to the Dollar Store down the road, because I live in a small town, and that is the biggest store we have! :) Just so you know, NEVER BUY THREAD FROM THE DOLLAR STORE!! It is a waste of time and money! But hey, I was desperate! Then I get home and see that the deadline is soon, I don't know what the time change is, but it was 7:00 p.m. here and the deadline was at 9:00 p.m.. I thought the deadline was tomorrow! Well I still had to thread a bobbin and needle, (which took FOREVER), then the thread kept breaking! So I just stitched it with no thread and used a black marker to make faux stitching. So don't look to close, I was in a hurry! Then when I tried to post it, it wouldn't work, so after the third time trying it finally worked. I want to make another card like this one, when I'm not in such a hurry! :) Well I hope ya'll like it!

Supplies:

Paper- My Mind's Eye- patterned paper, SU!- green cs, The Paper Company- black & cream cs

Ink- StazOn- jet black for Thickers

Accessories- Offray- cream satin ribbon, circle punch, pear printed from computer, stitching marks from sewing machine, black marker for faux stitching

Have a Blessed night!

Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #7

I'm back again with another color challenge! This one is from Dawn's. I really loved these colors together, but I found it hard to find those colors in my stash! I tried to get the colors as close as possible, and it was hard to get my picture to show the right colors, but overall I really like the card in real life! :) Look how pretty the flowers are in Dawn's inspiration picture, so I just had to use my rose stamp. and I used white card stock to make the flower really pop! Check out the polka dot paper at the bottom of the card. I didn't have a polka dot stamp, so I stamped a pencil eraser with Versamark watermark and then clear embossed it. :) I guess you gotta do what you gotta do! ( I did buy a polka dot stamp today!) :) Ok, here's it is! Recipe:
Paper- My Mind's Eye, Colorbok, Deja Views- paper & CS, homemade polka dot paper
Stamp- The Paper Studio- faith stamps, Rubber Stampede- Rose design stamp, pencil eraser :)
Ink- SU!- Pixie pink ink, Versamark- watermark
Accessories- clear embossing powder, green grosgrain ribbon, pink pom pom ribbon

Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #5

Hey everyone! It's time for the Color Challenge from Dawn! I am getting this in really late! It is raining here and the people over the baseball and softball have not canceled games yet! So I am trying to get supper cooked and uniforms on before 4:45 pm, and I bet they will wait to cancel it until we get there (about 20 min. away)! Anyway here is my card, I will be back later to let you know the details on the card and the update on my daughter!

ETA: Here is the circle card I made with my Cricut. I used my circle punch for the scallop edge and my new wood grain stamp and white embossed it, for the look of a tree. I used my Studio g owl stamp and clear embossed him. I used my gel pen for stitching. I cut out the conversation bubble with my Cricut too, and used PaperTrey Ink- mixed messages stamps for the sentiment.
