EBTKS #14 -Around the House Challenge

Good morning! Well today is a new EBTKS Around the House Challenge! And this week's host is Lynnette and she choose to use Envelopes! Have fun is that?! :) And the sponsor this time is Ippity Stamps from the sweet and talented Ashley N. Newell! And the stamps they are giving to the winner are SO pretty!
I made my card for my Big brother's Birthday! His name is Chris and he is one Amazing guy! My father passed away when we were all very young and my brother stepped up as he got older and became a father figure to me! He even gave me and one of my sisters away at our weddings, since we didn't have our dad! :) So I made him this card for his birthday on Wednesday. He turned 34, and I really wanted to share with him who he is to me! So I listed 5 things that I love about him using the PTI Top Ten stamps! So I stamped this little envelope with a woodgrain stamp and hid the little note inside. But yes...I will share it with ya'll too! :)

He really is ALL of these things and SO much more! I love him so much! :)
And I stamped Happy Birthday inside using the You're Dandy set from Practicing Creativity!
You can stop by the EBTKS blog for all the details on the challenge and to see all the other designers projects and you can see the stamps that are going to the winner!

I hope you all have a very Blessed weekend! I know I will, we are having a Girls (Mother & Daughter) weekend at the beach this weekend. All of my Mom's side of the family (girls) will be there! We all grew up at the beach together, so now we are going to make more great memories with our daughters! Me and Autumn are leaving around noon, (yes I am taking her out of school early)! The state TAKS tests are over, so she is getting a little break! :) And Chance and Chace are going on a Boys (Father & Son) weekend at the lake with a friend of his and his sons. So it is going to be a great weekend! We are coming back a little early, so we can make it back for church on Sunday. I know it is going to be a great church service and I don't want to miss it! So we will be home late Saturday night! So I will take lots of pics and share them later! :)

Embellish Magazine's Color Challenge with Embossing

Hey everybody! I finally got to make a couple of cards and let me just tell you...it felt SO good to be crafty! I really needed it! My card today is for the Embellish Magazine's Color Challenge with Embossing!
Autumn had a fitting for her cheerleading suit on Monday, where I told the lady fitting them, that I wanted her skirt to be even longer than she (the lady fitting her) wanted it to be! We try to teach our children modesty, so having a longer skirt is very important. The skirts now days are TOO short! I think the lady thought I was a little crazy when I told her I wanted it 3 inches longer instead of 2! :)

But anyway, the cheerleading sponsor called me and asked if I could make the Representative that fitted them a Thank You card. I was flattered that she asked and of course I said I would! So I broke out the Practicing Creativity You're Dandy stamps and got busy! I have been so busy here lately, that I haven't really got to use this set that much, so I was very excited about using the rays! Courtney has a great video on how to use them on her blog here. Thanks Courtney! :)

Look how Amazing this inspiration pic is! I love all the colors!

I wanted my card to look like a rainbow and I hand cut my clouds and embossed them. And Voila! :) Supplies: Cardstock- (PTI) white, (SU!) pink ; Stamps- (Practicing Creativity) You're Dandy ; Ink- (SU!) brocade blue, pixie pink, yoyo yellow, (Studio G) green ; (Provo Craft) Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder

Well that's it for today, but I will be back tomorrow with another EBTKS Around the House Challenge! :)

Have a Blessed day!

Kristina Werner's One Layer Card Challenge

Hey everybody! Well we had softball and baseball games and camps all day today, so no house cleaning got done. I guess I could be doing it know instead of being on here, but I'm too tired! But I did get to make a card today for the Kristina Werner's one layer card challenge! I made the card for my friends daughter. We didn't get to go to the party today because of all the sports stuff, and my brother and his family came and spent the day with us and ate supper, so she will get her gift tomorrow. Her birthday party was done in kitties & puppies, so I thought these little stamps were perfect for it!
I know that I am rusty in card making, because it took me 5 times to get this card! I would either not ink my stamp good enough and the image wasn't crisp, or I got StazOn cleaner dripped on the card, or didn't space stuff right! So I wasted to much PTI cardstock! :( I only had a little bit of time to work on it, but I thought I would at least have enough time to work on another one too! But no such luck! :) So let's just say, I'm glad this card is finished! :)
Supplies: Cardstock- (PTI) white ; Stamps- (PTI) Tiny treats valentine, (Practicing Creativity) Look up, (Inkadinkado) Chelsea alphabet ; Ink- (StazOn) jet black, (SU!) brocade blue, pixie pink, pumpkin pie, yoyo yellow ; Other- (EK Sucess) colored pencils

I wanted to give you all a update on Chace. I took him in to the Dr. on Thursday and she said it wasn't a common rash, but she didn't think it was anything serious. It isn't really itching or hurting, she seems to think that he might have had a virus and this was part of it. He had a little cough last week, so maybe that was it. But the Dr. wanted me to bring him back on Friday after school, just so she could see it after 24 hours. She said it didn't look worse and to keep any eye on it and Benadryl, Calamine lotion, and baking soda baths as needed. So Thank you for all the prayers!

Well have a Blessed night, I'm off to bed! :)

Happy Earth Day...Hug A Tree!

Happy Earth Day! I FINALLY got to make a card today! I haven't made one in about a week! So I decided Earth Day was a great day to make a card...you know why not waste more paper! :) But I did use all scraps...paper and ribbon. I bought these pins about two years ago from the Target $ bin and I have only used a couple. So I thought now was a good time to use one! I distressed the edges and frayed my ribbon. Oh my.... doing that to the ribbon was VERY hard for me to do! :) The card came together really quick since everything was scraps. The only thing I had to stamp was the leaves and cutting them out was the longest part of the whole card. So I am submitting this card the Jessica Witty's 10 minute scrap challenge! I always want to do these challenges, because I NEVER throw away scraps, but I seem to never find the time. I know 10 minute cards don't require much, but washing my husband some clean underwear seems to be hard for me to get done right now! :)

Supplies: Cardstock- (PTI) spring moss, (Paper reflections) brown ; Stamps- (PTI) turning a new leaf, (All night media) woodgrain ; Ink- (PTI) spring moss, (Versamark) watermark ; Ribbon- (Offray) black satin ; Other- (Target $ bin) Earthday pin, (Heidi Swapp) edge distressor

Yesterday was Secretary's Day and look what my husband brought me home! He got them from a customer's house. Yes you read that right, somebody is always giving him something! The lady wanted to show him her garden she has been working on. He said it was beautiful! He told her my wife would loves those, can I bring her one? She said of course, so he brought me these and brought his Mom one because she is a secretary at there company, and her boss (her husband) didn't get her anything! I sure wish you could smell over the computer how GOOD these smell! Seriously, it's like someone sprayed the smell on them! I have them sitting right beside me so I can smell their goodness! :)

Well I better go, I still have a little bit of our taxes left to do, and if you are wondering...yes we filed an extension! :) Please say a prayer for Chace today, I have to bring him into the Dr. today. He started getting a little rash on him and it gets more bumps everyday. The school nurse seems to think it is poison ivy, so we are going today to get it looked at. I'm sure he is fine, but I don't want him to have to get any shots or anything! Thanks in advance! :)

Have a Blessed day!

Card Publication

Hey everybody! Long time no blog! :) I have still been so busy! I feel like I'm being pulled from one thing to another and no time to craft! I am still getting our taxes finished. I have been working with our CPA. Sometimes I wonder if everyone else's taxes are as complicated as ours! We did some changes to our business in the middle of the year and that seems to be why everything seems complicated! I hope next years are alot easier! :)
Well I wanted to share a card with ya'll today. I almost forgot that I had a card in the PaperCrafts May- June 2010 issue, because I have been so busy! I haven't even been to the craft store lately, so I was surprised to find my card in there when I got my issue in the mail. I love how "Springy" this issue is! I LOVE all the colors in it! :)
And here is my card! I just LOVE Heather Bailey fabric! :)
Well that's all for today! I need to get back to paperwork! I also have been redecorating Autumn's room. We are trying to get the finishing touches on it, so I will take pics of the before and after and show ya'll later! The EBTKS sketch challenge is still going on, so stop by and play along with us!
Have a Blessed day!

EBTKS #13 -Sketch Challenge

Good morning! Sorry I have been gone for so long! My life has still been crazy busy! I am finally getting all the taxes finished up and think we have decided to get some book keeping help! Our business is really growing (Praise God), so there is lots of paperwork and forms to fill out! So I will have a lady helping me out with that! I am hoping my life will get a little less stressed! :)

My kids are on Spring Break this week, and we have softball and baseball games all week! So we can't really go anywhere and having a A/C business in Texas....well lets just say, we are getting VERY busy! I told Autumn we would paint and redecorate her bedroom when the taxes were finished, so now that the lady is getting that finished up, we started painting yesterday! I wanted to keep it white and just decorate with pictures and stuff, but Autumn wanted a color so we got a sea foam color. It's really pretty, I hope it still looks good when it goes on the walls! :)

Well it's time for another sketch challenge over at EBTKS! This month our host is Ann. She got her inspiration from her heater and our sponsor is May Arts! I just love their ribbon! So here is the sketch! And here is my card. I used lots of different color ribbon I found in my scrap ribbon jar. And I added some May Arts ribbon in there too! It really is good quality ribbon, I love the twill!
So go to the EBTKS blog for all the details and to see all the other design teams cards! There will be LOTS of May Arts ribbon up for grabs to the winner...I mean like multiple yards of 29 different ribbons and I know everybody LOVES ribbon! :)

Have a Blessed day!

Chace's Class Party

Good morning! Sorry for the quiet blog! It is a BUSY time of year at the Sims house! A/C business is getting in full swing and so are all the sports! I have been working on the taxes as much as possible, but Chance informed me last night, that he set up a meeting with our CPA on Monday morning!! So, that means I have to work my butt off before then! Autumn has a game tonight, Chace has one Friday night, Chace is having a sleep-over at the house, Autumn and some of her friends are going to a lock-in at church and then we have to pick them up at 6:00 am Saturday morning, and then Chace has baseball pics at 8:00 am and a game at 9:00 am! When am I going to have time for taxes? Lord help me! :)
As you can see, I have not had time for crafting at all! I made Chace a card and some treat for his class BDay party and that is it! Well I have been working a little bit on my nieces Graduation invitations. And she loves them and so does my sister. My sister told me she almost started crying when she saw them! That makes me happy and sad all at the same time! :(
So I wanted to share the card and treats I made for Chace, using Courtney's stamps. They are so fun! Chance made each of them a BIG chocolate chip cookie and then each of them got cotton candy. Both were a big hit! :)
Well I'm off to the Chiropractor for an adjustment and to Goodwill to drop off a load of stuff! I have started Spring cleaning and it fells good to get rid of some of this stuff! :)

There is still time to play in the EBTKS challenge!

Have a Blessed day!

Happy Birthday Chace!

Hello! Well today is my sweet baby boy Chace's 9th birthday! I can't not believe he is already 9! He is getting so big, I can hardly carry him to bed anymore! :( Before he was born, I wondered if I could love another baby as much as I loved Autumn. But when I saw him...it was love at first site! :) He has always been the sweetest and kindest baby and now child! He is such a sweetheart! He knows when we aren't feeling well and he comes and prays for us, without us even asking him. I know God is going to use him in a mighty way! He has always told me and his Daddy, that he was going to live with us forever and his wife too, and that his wife would cook for us! :) I pray that we are always close to our kids, because I couldn't imagine being away from them one day! Well we are going to eat with Chace today at school. I will bring him his favorite...chicken nuggets from McDonald's! :) And then this afternoon I will bring cookies, cotton candy, and juice for his class birthday party! (He still thinks his parents are cool!) :)

I hope you all had a good Easter, we did! We went to a great church service and then out to eat at our favorite restaurant, Carrabba's! And had THE BEST STEAK EVER! And Chace got a birthday brownie with ice cream, chocolate mousse, whip cream, and chocolate sauce! SOOO GOOD! And then came home for a good nap! :)
Don't forget, there is still time for the EBTKS challenge! Who doesn't like using string on your cards?! :)

Have a Blessed day!

Good Friday

Hey everybody! Well today is Good Friday, and this day means so much to me! It is the day that my Lord and Savior suffered and died so I wouldn't have to and so that I might be with Him again one day! It is a very bitter sweet day. Sad that he had to hurt & suffer, but very thankful that He took my place. I wanted to share a scripture and a video with you today that is perfect for this day. But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our sins; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

I don't know how to upload a video on Blogger yet, so here is the link. It is such a good song. I was listening to it a couple of days ago in the car. And when I woke up this morning, this song was on my heart. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdCSU_IrNXg

I wanted to give everyone a update on Chance. He stayed sick all day again yesterday, but when Chace came home from school yesterday he went in the room to check on his Daddy. Chace asked his Daddy if he could pray for him! :) He prayed and seriously, Chance was out of the bed about 30 to 45 mins later and was up for the rest of the night! He even preformed a wedding yesterday! It was a very small wedding at our house. The groom is someone who is so special to our family and it is so nice to see him fall in love again after being widowed for about 4 yrs.!
So Chance woke up this morning felling GREAT and he is back to work! We have had about 6 A/C calls just this morning! I think the Lord just held off all the work 'til Chance was better! He is always taking care of His children! Thank You Jesus! :)

Have a very Blessed day!

CARDS Publication

Hello! Well today is April Fools, and I have already been fooled 2 times today! I guess I am gullible! Here is a post I put on my Facebook today in regards of April Fools: " Don't be "Fooled" Friends, you will never know True happiness, peace, & love until you have met Jesus Christ! He will change the way you look at EVERYTHING! Thank you Jesus for saving & dying for me! :) "

I am feeling so Thankful for everything Jesus has done in my life and for what the true meaning of Easter is! He is so worthy to be Praised!

Well today I wanted to show you my card that was in the March issue of CARDS. Very simple, but simple is what I like! :) Thank you for all the prayers for Chance. He went to the Dr. this morning and they said that he has a virus and it has to run it's course. So that means he can have a couple of more days of fever. And he was starting to get Bronchitis, so they put him on antibiotics for that. OF course I have been spraying Lysol everywhere and Cloroxing everything! :) He is still unable to go to work, and with us owning a A/C business in Texas and it will be in the 80's today, that can be a scary thing. But God is so faithful, and believe it or not, the weather has been really good and not alot of service calls right now. We have a couple of employees who can run the calls if we have them, so Chance is able to get the much needed rest he needs! Thank you Jesus!

I have started doing a little Spring cleaning today, but I really need to make Chace's Easter gifts for school, so I guess I better go do that, his party is tomorrow morning! :)
Have a Blessed day!
