EBTKS #20- Around the House Challenge

Good morning! It's time for an Around the House Challenge over at EBTKS blog! This week Courtney is our host and she chose Buttons! I really love old buttons and unique buttons! So I knew just what button I wanted to use on a project! :) We have a great sponsor this week....Simon Says Stamp! Woo Hoo! So go by and check out their store! :)
My MIL bought me a jacket from a garage sale last year and it was brand new and still had the tags on it. And along with the tag was the extra button! You can see the jacket here. I have known that I wanted to use that button on something, so this challenge was it!
Here is my card. And you can take it off and use it as a hair piece.
You can use it in your hair or clip it on a shirt or necklace.
I also made the headband. I used some trim that I found a JoAnn's and just hot glued it on. And I left one little spot open and didn't glue it, so I could clip on the flower.
Here is the back of the flower, showing it clipped on instead of glued on.
{Supplies: Cardstock- (PTI) vintage cream, (Paper reflections) brown ; Stamps- (PTI) (leaves) Turning a new leaf & (sentiment) Damask Designs ; Ink- (VersaMark) watermark, (Tsukineko- Memento) Rich cocoa ; Other- corner rounder, hole punch, trim, fabric, & clip (JoAnn's), headband (WalMart), button from stash}

You could make this whole set as a gift, but I think I am going to be stingy and keep it myself! :) I will make another one to give away!

I hope ya'll liked my project and go by the EBTKS blog and check out the other designers cards too. And you can get all the details on the challenge too!

We will be going to my Mee Mee's today to stay with her a couple of days. She is very lonely since my Paw Paw passed away. If you will Please keep her in your prayers. Thank You!

Have a Blessed day and weekend! :)

You're the SWEETEST! card

Hello! Sorry it's been almost a week since my last post! Life is just busy and I don't think it's going to slow down for awhile! Chace starts football today (it's already early morning) and Autumn will start cheerleading in a couple of weeks. She has already started learning to play Volleyball. It was my favorite sport in school, so I have been helping her. I already see improvements, so that's good! :)
I wanted to share a card I made about a week ago. I am usually making cards for certain occasions, for card calls, or DT work, so it was nice to just make a card for no reason at all! I love this little Studio G strawberry stamp and I have been trying to learn how to use my Copics. My skills still need a lot of work! But it is fun and almost relaxing to do! :)
So here's the card.
And here is a close up.
Supplies: Cardstock- New leaf, Pure Poppy, & white (PTI) ; Stamps- strawberry (Studio G), Harold's ABCs (Lawn Fawn) ; Ink- Basic Black- (SU!) ; Ribbon- black grosgrain (Offray) ; Other- red & Green (Copics), scallop punch (Fiskars)

Well that's all for today! Thanks for stopping by!

Have a Blessed day!

Well Hello! I wanted to share some news with you today. I was very Blessed to be asked to be apart of an AMAZING magazine from Paper Crafts called "Card Style"! It is filled with 4 different card style types. I have always considered myself to have a Clean & Graphic card style, but I guess Paper Crafts seen Classy & Elegant. But then when I started creating the cards, I realized that maybe I do have a Classy & Elegant side too! :) It was alot of fun to create the cards. I had 2 cards in this issue, but I can only share one. So you will have to get a copy to see the other one and to see all the other Amazing cards in there too! Here is my card.
Can ya'll tell I REALLY love Big bows?! :)

She Wore An Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini

Hello! How was ya'lls weekend? Mine was great! My family and my brother and sisters and all of their families went to the water park Saturday! We all had a great time! :) Then Autumn and Chace went and stayed the night with my sister Somer. So Chance and I went out to dinner and then watched a movie at home. We went to church the next day and then went and picked up the kids and then we all went and ate lunch. Then we came home and took about a 3 hr. nap! I love days like that! :) So it was a great weekend here!
I had to get my new Lawn Fawn stamps out again and ink them up! I had this idea in my head, so I just went with it and I really like how it came out. I use to love singing that song "Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" when I was growing up, so when I first saw this set, that's what I thought of!
I think I will give this card to my oldest sister for her birthday coming up in August. Her and my other sister have the same Birthday and they are 7 yrs. apart. So I will give this one to my older sister, she is teeny tiny and she can wear her daughters bikinis and she loves the sun, so I thought this card was perfect for her! She is turning 39 and she still looks like she is in her 20's!
I LOVE this set! I sure wish I had more time to play with it. Business is booming and the kids are driving me Crazy not being in school, so not much crafting lately! :(
I did make them work today! They helped clean and Autumn helped file papers, so that kept them from fighting and arguing with each other for a little while! But they are aggravating each other right now as I type! :(
Supplies: Cardstock- White, Black, Melon Berry, Lavender Moon, Lemon Tart, Simply Chartreuse, Hawaiian Shores, Raspberry Fizz (PTI) ; Stamps- Swimsuit Season (Lawn Fawn) Polka Dot Basics II (PTI), Signature Greetings (PTI) ; Ink- watermark (Versamark), basic black (SU!) ; Other- hand cut arrow, white embossing powder (American Crafts)
Well Chance just walked in from a long day working, so we are going to spend some family time together. Have a Blessed night! :)

Thanks card

Hey everybody! I needed to make some Thanks cards for our business. We try to send out Thank You cards to our customers, so I like to have some already made in case I need them quickly.
My card today is from a sketch from the Got Sketch? blog, it's sketch #101. I found this blog through Dawn McVey's blog. She did a card with this sketch and it was so cute! So I stopped by the Got Sketch? blog and was SO inspired by the sketches. They have card and layout sketches. I know I will be coming here for some inspirations for my layouts that need to be done! :)
I used my Mehndi Medallions Stamps from Wplus9 Designs. I LOVE those stamps.

Supplies: Cardstock- (PTI) Summer sunrise, white, kraft, dark chocolate ; Stamps-
(Wplus9 Designs)
Mehndi Medallions ; Ink- (ColorBox) yellow cadmium, (Versamark) watermark, (SU!) close to cocoa , Other- corner rounder, (American Crafts) white embossing powder, stitching, white button, brown floss
Me and Autumn were up bright and early this morning to work out! We usually go in the evenings, but we tried doing it this morning and it was SO much cooler out side! I think I might try the morning again tomorrow and see if it gets any easier to get up! I am NOT a morning person, so this was a huge step for me! Now I just need to try to go to bed early so it will be easier to get up! :)
Have a Blessed day!

The KWerner Color Inspiration Challenge that never happened!

Well hello! I wanted to share a card that I made a couple of weeks ago for a Blog friend. The colors from the KWerner Color Challenge a couple of weeks ago were my inspiration and I was going to submit it, but she closed the challenge that evening and my pics weren't done yet! :( Missing the deadline for challenges seem to be happening to me lately! And I don't like it! :( So I didn't get to submit it, but I did get a card made for my Blog friend who needed a little card at the time! Her and her husband liked it, so mission accomplished! :) Here are the colors.

Here's my card.

Supplies: Cardstock- (PTI) white, spring rain, pure poppy, lemon tart, (ColorBook) orange & dark blue ; Stamps- (Lawn Fawn) Harold's ABC ; Ink- (SU!) brocade blue

I did take pics of my flowers today, but I am too tired to crop them. Sorry... I will try to post them tomorrow. We have been mowing, cleaning the yard, and cleaning the pool today. I am so tired, I think I might go to sleep early tonight, maybe before 2 am! :) The kids made it back home safe from camping and they had a good time!
Have a Blessed night!

Embellish Color Challenge- Invitations

Hey everybody! Well my kids went camping with there Grandma (Nonnie), so Chance took me out to dinner tonight. We ate at a new Mexican restaurant and it was AMAZING! We will be going back there for sure! :) We stopped by WalMart and got a couple of things, including some Beautiful flowers! Chances Mom my was a florist for many years, I sure wish she still owned her shop! I would be getting fresh flowers every week! I have to make sure they don't have pollen in them, because everyone in the house starts sneezing, gets a runny nose, or a headache. So I am very careful about that now! I will have to take a pic of them tomorrow and I wish you could smell them! :)
So now we are watching a movie and I am not really into it. It's Sherlock Holmes. So I figured I would get this card posted and crop some of my other cards I made recently while he enjoys the movie.
I made this card at the first of the week for the Embellish Color Challenge and we were to make an invitation. I am just now posting it because we had rain for like a straight week and I couldn't get a good pic until yesterday! :)
I really like how it turned out. I started off using my new stamp set from Wplus9 Designs Mehndi Medallions, it's a really pretty set. I randomly stamped the different stamps in several different colored inks. I had to print the sentiment from my computer because I didn't have a You're Invited sentiment that big and elegant. I think this invitation could really be used for any occasion.
Here is a close up. Supplies: Cardstock- (PTI) ripe alvacado, kraft , (Recollections) cream ; Stamps- (Wplus9 Designs) Mehndi Medallions , (PTI) turning a new leaf ; Ink- (Versamark) watermark, (ColorBox) gold, (Veramagic) wheat, (SU!) old olive ; Ribbon- (Offray) burgundy satin ; Other- floss, (Recollections) pearl stickers, sentiment printed from computer, corner rounder

Well I guess that's it. Have a Blessed night!

Color Cue {5} - Submitted too late :(

Well it looks like I just missed the deadline for the Color Cue {5} over at Dawn's blog! :( I made my card today and it rained all day so the pics aren't the greatest! We had a fish fry at church tonight and we ended up staying and talking for awhile, so when I got home I still had to crop my pics, so I just didn't get them submitted before the deadline. But I must say...I LOVE this color combo and I will be using it again! And I love the new Background Builders: Hearts stamp set from Wplus9 Designs! :)
So here is my card and I really like how it turned out! :) I bought this ribbon from Michael's a couple of months ago. I paid like $2.50 for like a Gazillion...ok more like 10 yards of ribbon and it's satin on both sides! I love it! I need to go back and get more colors! :)

Look at those cute hearts!
Supplies: Cardstock- (PTI) white ; Stamps- (Wplus9 Designs) Love birds & Background Builders: Hearts, (PTI) mega mixed messages ; Ink- (SU!) pumpkin pie & close to cocoa, (Hampton Art) Aqua, (VersaMagic) tea leaves ; Ribbon- (Michael's) Aqua ; Other- (Recollections) brown pearl stickers

There is still time for the EBTKS challenge!
Have a Blessed day!
