Traveler's Inspiration Challenge {5}

Hey everyone! Well I survived school clothes shopping! :) We just have a few more things to pick up before school starts. I can't believe Summer is almost over, it went by so fast! I have been wanting to do Tina's Traveler's Inspiration Challenge this week, but I have been so busy, that I just did it today! The inspiration picture is from the talented Claudia (aka-Clouds), she actually saw this everyday growing up! How amazing is that? I lived at the beach when I was a small child, but the beach was nothing like this!! The picture reminded me of the trip to Destin, FL. last year. I have made another layout from this trip for the Traveler's Challenge {3}. I am making a whole album of this trip, so I thought I would add another page to it! The picture in my layout is my view, while I was laying down on the beach! I loved the sand and the water so much there! The sand was like powdered sugar and the water was the prettiest blue and green! I could have sat there all day long!! We plan on going back for my 30th birthday in October, I can't wait! The inspiration for the colors, was from my swim suit and I just had to use some of my new punches that I finally found at Michael's! The scallops reminded me of the circles on my swim suit too! :) It's a really simple layout, but I wanted to focus more on the picture of the view! I am still working on taking pictures of layouts, I needed a darker color behind the layout, so guess what I used? My High School Graduation gown! No lie! It worked, so I guess that's all that matters, right?! OK, so here it is!
Here is just the picture!
Supplies:
Paper- My Mind's Eye,SU!, white & black cs
Stamp- Autumn Leaves-journaling stamps
Ink- Versamark- watermark
Accessories- American Crafts- Thickers, EK Success- large scallop, Fiskars- small scallop

Traveler's Inspiration Challenge {4}

Hello everyone! Sorry I didn't post yesterday, we decided to start back to school shopping! We went yesterday to get all the school supplies! I started shopping for my son's school supplies, and was almost finished, when my daughter says, Momma your getting 2nd grade, Chace is going to third! :) I knew that, but trying to get two kids school supplies at the same time, and they are both wanting you to do theirs first, I guess it slipped my mind! :) So after putting all the supplies back, I had to start over! :) Then my son started football practice yesterday, and my husband is helping coach, so he went with him, and I got to do Tina (aka TravelingMama's) Traveler's Inspiration Challenge. I have gotten to play in all of them so far, and I am glad because it has gotten me motivated to do some layouts again! Thanks Tina! The first challenge I had a card, here, but the other two I did a layout, here and here. This challenge I made a 8.5 X 11 layout first, then with the scraps, I made a card too! The inspiration picture is from the talented Savitri. I loved this picture and all the amazing colors in it, so that is where the inspiration came to me! I love this picture in the layout, my kids look like little models or something! :) The picture really just shows how much they love each other! That's where I got the title for the page, "Blessed". I am truly Blessed by them! :) I wanted the orangey background paper to look like the stucco wall, so I wadded my paper up and then smoothed it out and rubbed VersaMark watermark over it, and added some black like the hardware in the picture and of course the pop of red (my favorite part), and they had blue clothes on , but I added another little pop of blue too, and stitched some ribbon! And for the card I just used some scraps, with the same color scheme! So here they are! Supplies:
{Blessed- layout}
Paper-My Mind's Eye, white, black, & red cs
Stamp- Stampabilities-Polka Dot Background, Target $ spot-alphabet stamp
Ink-Versamark- watermark, StazOn-jet black, Versamark-white
Accessories- negative chipboard letter, white grosgrain ribbon, white thread- sewing machine, buttons- Bag-O-Buttons, white crocheting thread, circle punch

Stamp- Stampabilities- Polka Dot Background, Studio G-HELLO, Studio G- owl

Traveler's Inspiration Challenge #3

Hey everyone! I wanted to share a layout that I made for the Traveler's Inspiration Challenge from Tina's blog. I can't tell you, how much this challenge has inspired me. (I guess that's the point, right?!) This week the picture comes from Amy at Tethered 2 Home . The life jacket just reminded me of our vacation last year to Destin, Florida. My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary and renewed our vows on the beach. It was also my husbands 30th birthday, so we all went Parasailing. I am a little freaked out about heights, so I had some sleepless night for about a month before! :) I needed to overcome that fear, so I decided to do it too. My husband had to go with me and then he went with the kids too. I was a wimp and only let them bring me 600 ft. in the air, but everyone else went 800 ft. At least I did it though, right?! You can tell by the picture, I was a little worried, look at my fingers crossed! This is where the title came from! :) My in-laws went on the trip too, and they bought a photo album with "Destin, Florida" on the front of it, for our anniversary. So I decided to start filling up the pages with our trip. I used lots of stitching again (surprised?), some of them remind me of waves! I hope to share more pages of this vacation, in the near future! Thanks for the inspiration Tina & Amy. Here's the inspiration picture!
Here's my page!
Here's a close up of the stitching (waves)!

Traveler's Inspiration Challenge #2

Hey everyone! Well I made it through the sleep study and I actually went to sleep earlier than normal. Of course is was some uncomfortable sleep, but I did get some and they had enough data to do the study. So I will find out the results in about 7 to 10 days. They did say my husband needs to come in for a test, we told them about some of his sleep patterns, and they were a little concerned. We'll see if he goes in. :)
I was very inspired by the photo Anthonette submitted to the Traveler's Inspiration Challenge on Tina's blog. We went on vacation to Colorado two years ago to go snow boarding, and we passed through New Mexico. We went through a town called Pojoque and saw this rock that was shaped like a camel. It is a tourist attraction and is actually called "Camel Rock". So when I saw the picture of the pueblo's, it just reminded me of how beautiful New Mexico is, and this neat rock, and the sky's really are that beautiful! We went to Angel Fire, New Mexico this year for our vacation and it is the town right next to Taos were the pueblo's in the picture were. I decided to do a 8 1/2 X 11 scrapbook page for the challenge, to help with the vacation album I have been wanting to make. I decided to use some paper that I have never used, (like Kristina had suggested, to use stuff we have had for awhile), and the papers just looked like fabric that you might find in New Mexico. I did a lot of stitching,(which I love) and it kind of went with the fabric theme. I used my Cricut for the Title and added some lines and dots. I used my own hand writing (which I don't like), but I try to use it more in pages for my kids, because they will have these albums one day! Added some buttons and I think that's it! I am still trying to take pictures of layouts, it seems to be hard for me. I guess I just need to keep working at it! So here it is!
Here is Anthonette's picture.
Here is a picture of "Camel Rock".
Here is my page.
Here is a close up of the stitched papers.
Supplies:
Paper- My Mind's Eye, cream cs, scraps for my stash
Accessories- Cricut for title, buttons- Paper Studio, white crocheting thread, white thread from sewing machine, brown marker

Traveler's Inspiration Challenge #1

Hey everyone! I am so excited about this new challenge over at travelingmama's. I am trying to get my post in quick, so I'll try to hurry! This picture is adorable of all the shoes! I started looking through all of my pictures, and I found this Ballerina shoe card I made a couple of years ago, for my daughter. It is a Dance recital invitation, I made them for family and friends. I loved it then and I love it now. My daughter loves shoes, (she gets it honestly) :), so she really loved this card too! This card just reminds me of how much I loved to see my daughter dance, she was in tap, ballet, and jazz for 4 yrs. From 3 yrs. old until she was 7 yrs. old. She doesn't take dance anymore, but she still loves to dance. We love to watch "So You Think You Can Dance" every
week together and she dances around and preforms for me! She even puts on costumes! I wish there was better dance studios around where we live, so she could get back in it! So I thought this was the card I would use for the challenge! I know there is a shadow in the pictures, but I really liked it because it reminds me of a Ballerina bar! :) So here it is!
Supplies:
Pink & white cs
Pink satin ribbon
