Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #5

Hey everyone! It's time for the Color Challenge from Dawn! I am getting this in really late! It is raining here and the people over the baseball and softball have not canceled games yet! So I am trying to get supper cooked and uniforms on before 4:45 pm, and I bet they will wait to cancel it until we get there (about 20 min. away)! Anyway here is my card, I will be back later to let you know the details on the card and the update on my daughter!

ETA: Here is the circle card I made with my Cricut. I used my circle punch for the scallop edge and my new wood grain stamp and white embossed it, for the look of a tree. I used my Studio g owl stamp and clear embossed him. I used my gel pen for stitching. I cut out the conversation bubble with my Cricut too, and used PaperTrey Ink- mixed messages stamps for the sentiment.

Update, & a little bit of everything

Hey everyone! I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day! We had a great day at church and lunch at a local restaurant with our family, my mom, my mother-in-law and father-in-law, and some close friends. We went fishing this afternoon and had a good time! Well my daughter's leg seems to be looking better, we have to get her into see the Dr. tomorrow. So thank you to everyone who is praying for her and please continue to.

One another note- Some of you may know that my card last week was picked for Dawn's Color Challenge! I am so excited!! Dawn is such a talented card maker!! Thank You to everyone who left a comment on it!!
I told ya'll last week that we had a Teacher's Appreciation event at my kids school. Well some of the kids came to school at 7:00 am (school starts at 8:00 am) and held up signs as the teachers got to school. The signs said things like "We love our teacher's", My daughter made one that said "The 5th grade teacher's rock!". The teacher's were so thankful for that! Then all the kids had a Field Day, so it was a long, hot day, but we had a good day! Here are some pictures I wanted to share of the days events!
Here's Chace on Teacher's Appreciation Day.
Autumn & Chace at Field Day

Here is Chace racing his best friend, Chace had a late start, if he didn't it would have been close! They are the two fastest in their grade!

Here is Chace fishing on Mother's Day, he caught the first fish!

Here is Autumn holding her fish. They both caught two a piece, good, no fighting! :)

I hope to be back tomorrow with some projects I made for church.

Well it's late, I need to go to bed! Night!

Prayer Request

Hey everyone! It has been a crazy day today! I told ya'll yesterday that my daughter had a mosquito bite that was infected, well she has been on oral antibiotics since Thursday. The Dr. office said if she started running fever or it got worse to call them, well if anyone has kids, they know that kids always get sick or more sick on weekends!! Well she started getting a low grade fever today and her lymphnoid in her leg started hurting. So we took her to the ER, and they squeezed it and lanced it and packed it ( I know that sounds gross and it was)! Well they put her on more medicine and gave her a shot and took a culture, so we should know those results in 48 hours. The DR thinks it looks like MRSA ( the bad staph), but we are believing that the Lord will heal it and that the results will come back good! So if you could, lets believe in prayer together, that it is better already!! Thanks everyone and I hope you all have a very Blessed Mother's Day!

KWerner Color Challenge #51

Hey everyone! I am home taking a break from Field Day at my kids school! My daughter came home with me, she got bit below the knee Saturday from a mosquito, two days later it was infected, WOW that happens fast!! So yesterday the Dr. called in some antibiotics just to be safe. It looks better, but it hurts to bend it, so she can't run on it, so I brought her home from school!

It is teacher's appreciation this week, so I wanted to make a card for my son's teacher, she is such a great teacher!! I decided to use the colors from Kristina's Color Challenge. I really LOVED these colors!! I finally found a wood grain stamp at Michael's, and I LOVE it!! I wanted to do something with apples, because it is a teacher's card, so I figured, apples come from trees, so the wood grain stamp would work well! I really like how it turned out! It was so hard to take pictures of this card! I think I took about a million pictures!! LOL! I first made the apples with clear embossing powder, but you couldn't see them on the paper in the picture. So I decide to use white embossing powder. That stuff is messy, there is powder where there wasn't suppose to be!! I'll have to get a embossing buddy (I think that's what it is called). So here's my card, I'll try to be back later with a post about the Teacher's Appreciation event we had at school this morning!

Supplies:

Paper- ColorBok- rose and mustard CS, chocolate and white CS
Stamps- PaperTrey Ink- mixed messages, All Night Media- wood grain
Ink- Versamark-watermark
Accessories- White & clear embossing powder, white satin ribbon, corner rounder
EDITED TO ADD: I forgot to mention the apple stamp is from a Fall stamp set I got from the Target $ spot last year.
Have a Blessed Day!

Card- You're Too Kind

Hey everyone! Can you believe I blogged two days in a row! :) I have been doing some alterations on some of my clothes today. I'm no seamstress, but I had some cute dresses (I wear them as shirts), because they are to short for a dress in my opinion. So I just took a couple of inches off to make it look a little cute! I felt like the Virtuous Women in Proverbs all sewing and everything! :) Well I also have gotten to make some cards the last two days, but my week is about to get busier! Both of my kids play baseball and softball, combined they have 5 games this week, I have to go shop tomorrow, for the Mother's at church for Sunday, I have a dentist appointment on Thursday (YUCK), and my kids have a Field Day (play day) all day, outside Friday, I usually go every year and watch and take pictures. But I will try to at least make something! :) Well on to the card... I always find inspiration from other bloggers cards, I really need that sometimes to get my creativity going. So I found this one over at Ashley's at A New Design. She has great style, go check her out! Well I'm off to the softball game! Here it is, I hope you like it!
Supplies:
Paper- My Mind's Eye patterned paper, Brown & Kraft CS
Stamp- PaperTrey Ink- Mixed messages
Ink- ColorBox Chalk- dark brown, Versamark- watermark
Accessories- Sea green satin ribbon, green button, hemp twine, circle punch, clear embossing powder

Birthday Card

Hey Everyone! I had a chance to make a card yesterday, but I had to wait until today to take a picture of it. I really need to make that light box! Anyway, I need a card for my MIL's birthday on Thursday. I really wanted to use the same stamp and the same stamping idea like the card I made for Dawn's Challenge, I just changed the colors and design. I found a card over at Dawn's blog, and I really liked it, so I tried to create something similar, but with my own twist! I also tried scoring on my card as a design for the first time, it was really fun! I used a lot of scraps for this card and I love the color combo together! I'll be back tomorrow with some more cards I made! I couldn't decide what angle to show, so I showed 3! :) Well here it is!
