Everything But The Kitchen Sink Challenge & Embellish Ribbon Color Challenge

Hey everybody! Well I have some exciting new to share with you. My good blog friend Kelley, has offered to take some cards to the Children's Hospital in Nashville too. So I sent her 230 of the cards I collected, so that means that we will have reached 3 Children's Hospitals on Valentines Day! How amazing is that? Thank you so much Kelley and to all of ya'll for helping! :)

Ok, I wanted to show you a card that I made for Chance for Valentines Day. I started working on it last week, when I was working on the EBTKS Challenge projects, using a box top. But I didn't get it done in time to post it on the Challenge release day, so I sat down today and finished it. Then I noticed that one of the ladies' entries in the challenge has the same idea! I guess great mind's think alike! :)

It's a pretty simple card, so I let the focus be in the inside. I also noticed that it was almost the same colors as the Embellish Ribbon Color Challenge too. I changed the color pink that I was using and went with the lighter pink.

Here was the box tops I used for Chances card.

Here is the outside. Here is the inside. I stamped on the picture, the words- FOREVER... This is a picture Autumn took of us at the park a couple of weeks ago.
I also needed a card for my Mom's Birthday. My brother and sister's and I and all of our families are bringing my Mom out to dinner tomorrow night, so I thought I would use the Embellish colors for her card. Here is her Birthday card. I don't know if you can tell, but I didn't clean my leaf stamp very good from the last time I used it and when I tried to use Versamark, it had a little bit of color in it. I really like the effect though! It kind of matches the blue. :)
There is still a couple of days left for the EBTKS Challenge, and there is a great prize up for grabs and the winner will be a guest designer too! :) So come by the EBTKS blog and check out the details and play along with us!

EBTKS Around The House Challenge #5

ETA: The card drive's are now closed. I will not be taking anymore cards. I have had a great response to the drive, but I have lots of stuff to do before vacation in a couple of weeks, so I need to have the card drive finished! Thank you so much for your help! :)

Good morning! Well it is time for another Around the House Challenge for EBTKS, and this time it is from...Yours Truly! :) And the item to use is a box top or the cardboard from a box. You should have seen all the empty cereal boxes at my house while making my projects! :) And our sponsor this week is Kelleigh Ratzlaff from The Digichick. They have some great stuff over there! So we used a template from their store and our item (box top), to come up with our projects!
I made Valentine gifts for my husband and kids and I really like how they turned out! I try and do memorable gifts for them on Valentines day! It was alot of work, but I think they will love them! Here is the front view of them.
Here is the back view of the one for my husband. I used the mini envelope template to make the envelope on the back and I put a little "love note" inside and I added a little piece of Velcro to hold it shut for privacy. :)
Here is Autumn & Chace's box I made for the template. I traced the playing cards box template onto cereal boxes and folded them up and cover them in cardstock. And the hearts are from a box top. I just traced a heart on them and cut them out and covered them with cardstock. I LOVE the new stamp set from PTI. And I used Courtney's Key To My Heart stamp set, I really love the argyle! I stamped the things I love about them on the back, a couple of times.
Here is the inside. You can see a little of the cereal box in the inside. I made little cards with what I love about them and on the other side, is a picture of them. I let my husband look at them and he asked if it was suppose to make him cry? :( It really shows how much they are growing up and becoming their own person! And that can be a little sad! :( They really are AMAZING kids, I love them SO much! :)
Here is the one I made for Chance. It is a little mini album. I cut 5X5 cardboard pieces from cereal boxes for sturdiness and covered them with cardstock and stamped on them for the pages. The little hearts are from a box top. And added a ring to keep all the pages together and of course a bow! :)
On each page I added one reason why I love him and a picture. (And yes I noticed that I wrote in print on reason 1 and in curse on all of the other pages, Oops! But I think it will be ok! )
Supplies:
Cardstock- (Recollections) blue, sea green & pink, (Paper reflections) brown & cream, (Georgia Pacific) white
Stamp- (PTI) Top Ten & Top Ten additions & Polka dot basics II, (Practicing Creativity) Key to my heart, (Autumn Leaves) handwritten alphabet
Ink- (SU!) brocade blue, close to cocoa, pink passion
Ribbon- (American Crafts) Merry mint collection- brown stitched grosgrain
Other- (Zig) brown marker, ring, velcro

Stop by the EBTKS blog to see all the other girls projects and all the details. And find out about a special coupon code for some templates from The Digichick and the winner of the challenge will win a $15.00 gift certificate from there too! I know you will find lots of templates you will want, I have two and I think I will go get a few more! :) But remember, you don't have to use a template to play in the challenge, you only have to use a box top or cardboard from the box. I will be back soon with some cards I made using the box tops.
Have a Blessed day!

Everything But The Kitchen Sink Challenge #6

Good morning! It's time again for another around the house challenge. This week's idea is from Ann, her idea is to use wrapping paper. You can use any type of wrapping paper goods, paper, tissue paper, bows, etc. . I know you all have some of that laying around after Christmas! :)I chose to use wrapping paper. I was cleaning off my craft table, and I found a die cut flower. As I started looking at it, I could see the petals made hearts! So I cut some wrapping paper flowers using my flower die. I cut some small and large flowers. Then I trimmed them to make hearts.
Here is my card, with the wrapping paper hearts! :) I hope you can join us in the challenge. Ann is giving away a $25.00 gift certificate to Verve Stamps to the winner! You have from today until Jan. 8 at midnight CST to make a card, scrapbook page, or altered item and link it to Mr. Linky at the EBTKS blog!
Please check out the other ladies cards too!

So, I hope you can play along too! :)

The very talented Courtney, has asked a couple of us ladies to join her in this fun challenge, and now we are asking all of you to join us too! :) The rules to the challenge are, once a month one of the challenge hosts, will come up with an object from around the house, to use in a project. It can be a card, layout, or any kind of crafty project! This month, Courtney wants us to use something from the mail! You have from today until October 9th, to come up with a project! I don't know about you, but I am still old schooling it! I still pay alot of our bills with a check book! :) So it was perfect timing, because it was time to pay bills, and that means, we get too much mail! For my card, I used the cellophane from the front of an envelope for the pocket, and the inside of our light bill, has these cute polka dots, and a credit card (not a real one, but one trying to sell me car insurance) for the little book mark! So here is a picture of the supplies I used.
Here my card!
The little book mark, comes out of the pocket.
Then the little fabric flower (I'm lovin' these things! :) ) with the "Go Green" pin can be taken off the bookmark and wore for St. Paddy's day or Earth Day! I am also going to submit this card to the CARDS challenge , we are to make a flower on our card!
So don't forget to go by Courtney's and submit your project in Mr. Linky! And go check out the other ladies too!
