April CARDS Pubs

Hey everybody! Happy Memorial Day! I am so very grateful for all of the soldiers, past and present, who fight to keep us free and safe! Thank you! :)

Well today I wanted to post a card that was in the April CARDS issue. Yes, I am behind on posting these, but I am going to try and get it up to date! I love this card so much because I LOVE the Heather Bailey fabric. I think I need to order some more! :)
I am trying out a new photo editing system and I am LOVING it so far! I just used the collage option on this one, the pics were already edited. I will be posting some more on that soon!

Well I am off to help my sweet husband clean our pool out! He already drained it and now we need to scrub it clean. Yes we are a little late doing this too, but not much weekend time at home lately! :)

Have a Blessed and safe day!

Everything But The Kitchen Sink Challenge # 16- Nail Polish

Good morning! Well it's time for another EBTKS Around the House Challenge! This week the host is the very creative Kelly Marie Alvarez! And guess what she chose for us to use?....Nail Polish! How fun is that?! It was really fun to get out my daughters nail polish and use it in a crafty way! I don't really paint my finger nails and I just french tip my toe nails, so Chance asked me, "Where did you get all the nail polish, is that ours?" Because I really never use it, but Autumn sure does! :) I love all the colors, but just prefer no color on my nails! :)

This week our sponsor is DeNami Design! And they are giving away a $30.00 gift card! So check out the EBTKS blog for all the details and play along with us! :)
Here is my card...very simple. :)

Supplies: Cardstock- (PTI) white, plum pudding ; Stamps- (PTI) Tiny treats Valentine ; Other- Nail polish, (EK Success) corner rounder

I know some of you might be thinking...Nail Polish?! But I know ya'll are very creative and I can't wait to see what ya'll come up with! :)

Have a Blessed day! :)

My Bench Warmer! :(

Hey everybody! Well today we were at Autumn's All Star tournament. She had a game at 10:10 this morning and they lost, but that game didn't count (it's like a practice game). So they played their "real" game at 5:45 and they won. Autumn has never really played outfield or sat the bench, so today was the first day. The All Star team she is on, has 7 original players from the team that won 1st place in the season and their coaches and only 5 players that were picked from the other teams and the 4 girls have to trade out positions in the outfield!
Autumn is a really good player and this is the 7th year she has played, so she knows what to do. So it has been a hard day watching your child sit the bench, when you know she knows how to play and she has worked so hard at the practices! I think they knew all along that they were going to play the 7 original girls in their original positions! :(
Just a little mad...if you can't tell! But I am So proud of her for what she has already accomplished this year!
Anyway, we are playing again in the morning at 9:45, so we will see how we do! :)
Here she is one of the few times she played today! She did get a good hit batting today and got a RBI!

Check back tomorrow for another EBTKS Challenge! :)

Graduation Cards & Some Exciting News!

Good morning! I wanted to brag on my son for a minute! Chace's baseball team played their championship game last night and won! The are 1st place in their division and we will have to play another 1st place division team and whoever wins will be the minor league champs! :)
Chace played an AMAZING game last night and made us SO proud! Everyone was coming up to him and telling him he did a great job! He was so happy! They are a great group of boys and they all did so good this year! Chace also made All Stars this year and not just because his Daddy coaches, he was good enough to be on the team! Chance will not pick him if there are other kids that are better on the team and Chace knows that and he sure worked hard this year to get a spot! :)
I also wanted to tell ya'll some exciting news! My card was picked for the top 20 in the Gallery Idol for Paper Crafts Blog! :) Along with some of my other friends too! I am so excited for all of us and I can't wait for the next challenge! Thanks for all the sweet comments already!

And my card here was spotlighted on the Color Cue Challenge over at the Wplus9 Design blog a couple of weeks ago! Thanks to Dawn and the ladies! :)

Well today I wanted to share some Graduation cards that are for three young men from the youth group at our old church. Two of them are the ones we went and watched play tennis at the State tournament. We have know them since we went to that church. They are all so special to our family and we love them! Tonight is their Graduation and we are so excited and sad to see them graduate. I'm sure they won't care much about the cards...but what is in them! ;)

Supplies: Cardstock- (PTI) true black, white, yellow/gold (?) ; Stamps- (PTI) Signature greetings, (Studio G) graduation stamps ; Ink- (SU!) basic black, (ColorBox) yellow cadmium

Well I better go pack. Autumn plays in her All Star softball tournament this weekend. It is a little over an hour away and they can play alot of games, so it is best we just stay the night. And it is going to be HOT! It is already almost 100* here in Tx! So I hope ya'll have a great Memorial Day weekend, I know we will! :)

Have a Blessed day!

Teacher Gifts

Good morning! I wanted to give you an update on Autumn's test scores. Well we are unsure about how good she did (we will find that out in a couple of weeks), but we do know that she PASSED! :) So we have already started our Summer and that includes sleeping in! :)
Today I wanted to share a gift set I made for Chace's teacher. I figured she could use it next year. It is a note card set of 10 with envelopes. I used my Lawn Fawn stamps Just My Type and the apple is from another set and I printed out "A note from Mrs. Ford" off of my computer. And I used some of my new ColorBox Yellow Cadmium ink that I ordered from the Lawn Fawn store too! And I LOVE it!
I used the clear box that I got from one of my PTI stamp sets. I love these little boxes, they come in so handy! :) Here is the back, nothing great but I wanted to show you the envelopes. I just stamped an apple on the front of each one.Supplies: Cardstock- (PTI) white, summer sunrise, pure poppy, true black ; Stamps- (Lawn Fawn) Just My Type, (KI Memories) school days ; Ink- (ColorBox) Yellow Cadmium, Warm Red, (Memento) Tuxedo Black, (Hampton Art- a' la mode) Aqua ; Other- (Fiskars) scallop circle punch, (Sizzix) Circle die, (PTI) clear box

Well that's it today. I still have another teacher gift set to show you, so I hope to post it tomorrow. Have a Blessed day! :)

Baby Gifts

Hello! I have some really exciting new to share with ya'll! Our kids take a test called the TAKS test at the end of the year from 3rd grade to 12th grade in school. You have to pass this test to be able to move to the next grade and they prepare for this test ALL year! So this was Chace's first year to take it. And if they pass it, haven't missed to many days of school, and their grades are good, then they get out 2 weeks early from school. Well yesterday was their last day of school if they met all the qualifications, but we still hadn't heard about the test yet. So this morning Chace's teacher called and said he passed both of the tests, (in Reading & Math) and he got commended on his Reading test, which means he missed 3 or below! :) We are so proud of him! We prayed that he would do his best and I believe he did! :) We are still waiting on Autumn's results!

Well today I wanted to share some gifts I made for my cousin & his wife for their baby on the way. I didn't get to go to her baby shower, so when we went to the beach for that weekend, they were there. So I brought the gift and she LOVED it! Here is the card I made to match all the gifts.
Here is the onesie I made with the letter "T" for Taylor.
Here is the little TuTu I made, and I must say I am in LOVE with it! I told Autumn I was going to make her one! :) Here is the tutorial I used to make it.Here is a little flower headband to match.
Burb clothes that I made. Ya'll know how much I love to make these burb clothes as baby gifts! I think they are a MUST for babies! Here is the tutorial for them.
Here is a close up.
Here is the gift bag I decorated to match...because I just love to match! :)
Here is the whole set! This set makes me want another baby girl so I could dress her up! But then I remember that I like to sleep through the night! ;)
There is a little pair of socks I found at JoAnn's for a $1.00 in there too, they were the whole inspiration to the gift! I will be sharing my teachers gifts soon, I really like how those turned out too! :)
Ok so that is it for today!

Have a Blessed day!

KWerner Readers' Choice Color Inspiration No.1 Challenge

Hey everybody! Thank ya'll for all the advice on the ink. I think alot of you feel the same way as I do about some of the inks. Some have suggested some new inks so I need to try those out.

I have been crafting the last couple of days and it feels so good! I love it! :) I have been working on end of the year gifts for teachers, (I will share those later), but today I took a little break to make a card for Kristina's Readers' Choice Color Inspiration No.1 Challenge. I LOVE these colors and I will have to use these colors for another card later! Here are the colors. Here is my card. You might remember this card I made awhile back. I just love these Dear Lizzy stamps! I made the card for my friend who we stayed with while we were in Austin. She has two little girls and a baby on the way, not sure of the sex yet, but she is due at the end of the month. So I know there are plenty of little dresses around their house, so this stamp was perfect of her! I just wanted to thank her for her hospitality! :)
This was the lightest gray I had. I need to make an order soon.
Look at this little Merci stamp! Isn't it the cutest? The sweet Kelly Marie gives one "thanks" stamp away with every order and it's a different one every time! How sweet is that?! Thank you Kelly Marie! :)
Supplies: Cardstock- (PTI) Spring rain, sweet blush, berry sorbet, ripe avocado, white, (Scraps from my stash) gray ; Stamps- (Dear Lizzy + American Crafts) Warble, (Lawn Fawn) free stamp :) ; Ink- (Versamark) watermark, (Colorbox) charcoal & coral rose, (PTI) Fresh snow ; Other- embroidery floss, hand cut grass

Well I need to get back to teachers gifts!
Have a Blessed day!

What ink do you think is the best?

Hey everybody! Well I need some input! I watched Courtney's videos about different inks, and I started thinking about all my different inks! I LOVE ColorBox chalk inks, and I own quite a few of those. But I am about to make a big order of PTI cardstock, (because I believe it is the best cardstock-EVER and I need some of their new colors!), and I started looking at the PTI Palette Hybrid ink to match all the cardstock I am ordering. But I have bought a couple of the cubes a couple of months back to try them out and I wasn't really impressed! It could be that the cubes are different than the pads, but I thought they just stamped weird! So if there is anyone who has experienced the PTI cubes and the pads and maybe they stamp different, please let me know! And what kind of ink do you think is the best? Thanks in advance for all of the help!
Have a Blessed night! :)

EBTKS #15- Sketch Challenge

Good morning! Well it's that time again...time for a EBTKS sketch challenge! This week it is hosted by Courtney! She used inspiration from her books and this is the sketch she came up with!
The sponsor is SEI and there is a great prize up for grabs!
I needed two Thank you cards for Chace's teachers. Chace's class put on a "musical play" and the they did Great! Chace was probably the most nervous one! He looked down the whole time and was so afraid to look up! So I'm not sure if performing is in his future...but you really never know! :) The teacher's also did a great job with all the preparations! So I wanted to give them a card telling them Thank you for the play and giving my child an opportunity to try something new and for a great year! So I used this sketch do make them. I figured I would use the Just a Note stamp set from Wplus9, since it was a musical and there was lots of singing! :)

Supplies: Cardstock- (PTI) pure poppy, white, raspberry fizz, lemon tart, summer sunrise, spring rain ; Stamps- (Wplus9) Just a Note, (Dear Lizzy + American Crafts) Whitle ; Ink- (SU!) basic black, (ColorBox) warm red ; Ribbon- (Offray)black grosgrain

Here are all the goods from our sponsor SEI! I hope you all can join us in the challenge! Stop by the EBTKS blog for all the details!

Parking Ticket

Hey everybody! Well we made it back safe from Austin! We had a great time! We got to stay with a very close friend of mine growing up! Her and her husband and kids live there while he is going to University of Texas. We spent the night with them Saturday night and went to church the next morning with them (and it was a great service)! And then out to eat lunch and then back to their house for dessert! Then we went to the Hotel, where the kids were excited about swimming in the pool! Well little did we know but the hotel is doing renovations and the pool was included in that! :( So they sent us down the road to swim in another hotels pool! How weird is that!? And we told them that they needed to post that on their website about the renovations, so they gave us breakfast vouchers for the next morning! But we got up too late and we didn't get to use them!
Then we went Monday morning to the UT tennis courts and couldn't find a place to park anywhere....well that is before we found a great little parking lot right behind the courts! We knew there was a 50/50 chance on getting a ticket, but we were willing to risk it! We didn't want to drive 4 hrs to watch them play and then be late! They ended up losing their match, but they really did great! The team that beat them, ended up winning State!
So we go out to the truck and find a $25.00 ticket! So I guess we just paid for really expensive parking! :)
So we made it home for Chace's baseball game and Autumn was nominated for All-Star Softball, so she had to go try-out for that! We found out today that she made it! We are so proud of her! :) She didn't have a real good coach this year, so we are very happy with this All-Star coach! I think he will teach her alot! :)
We did our Business taxes with our CPA today and we have to drop our personal taxes off tomorrow with our other tax guy! So I hope they get those done soon! Our business has really grown, so our taxes have been complicated this year, but now I have a CPA taking care of most of the bookkeeping, so it will be alot better next tax season! Thank you Jesus! :)
So anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know that I am still here! And I hope to craft some tomorrow!
There is still time to play in the EBTKS challenge! We are using envelopes on a project and the prize is great! So stop by and play along with us! :)

Have a Blessed night!

Color Cue {3} Challenge & All Eyes On Masking - I just love you.

Good morning! Long time no post! Things are starting to calm down around here! Taxes are being prepared, Autumn has one more softball game left, the girls weekend went great (but glad to be home), and I'm going to try and finish my niece's Graduation invitations today. We are going out of town from Saturday until Monday to Austin, to go and watch two of our youth boys from our old church play tennis. They are going to state and we couldn't be more proud of them! We remember them starting out playing ping- pong at church, then they started throwing a tennis ball up against the church building, then they got tennis rackets and started hitting the balls up against the building! So they started playing together as doubles as Freshman in High school and now they are Seniors and are going to state together. They both received scholarships to go and play at a military college in Alabama! We told them if they made it to state, that we would go and watch them.....so we are traveling 4 1/2 hrs. to go watch them play! We are only going to watch them play one match, because we have to get back for Chace's game on Monday night at 5:30. So yes, we are letting our kids skip school on Monday....but he will be back to play his baseball game! :) So after this weekend, it should start winding down....maybe! It is the end of school, so that always means craziness! :)

Ok, enough about that...here's a card! I made this card for the Color Cue {3} Challenge over at Wplus9 blog! Dawn picked out some great colors and I also used her All Eyes On Masking Challenge. This was a first for me and I LOVED it! Thanks Dawn for a fun challenge! :) So here is my Mom's Mother's Day card. We won't be here for Mother's Day, so she will be getting this early. Supplies: Cardstock- (PTI) melon berry, summer sunrise, (DCWV) gray-Latte cardstock ; Stamps- (PTI) turning a new leaf, (Technique Tuesday's) Ali Edwards- loving words ; Ink- (ColorBox) chalk- charcoal, (PTI) fresh snow ; Ribbon- (Offray) white satin ; Other- (Sizzix) Beautiful Butterfly Die, (recollections) pearls, white gel pen
Don't forget about the EBTKS challenge, we are using envelopes in projects this time, and that can be lots of fun! Well I'm off to do Graduation invitations!
Have a Blessed day! :)
