Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine Special Thanks Blog Hop

Hey everybody! Welcome to the Paper Crafts Farewell Blog Hop! You should have come from Sarah's blog Here or to start from the beginning of the hop, go to Jennifer's blog Here.
As most of you know Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine is closing down! :'( It was a very sad day for all of us, the day we heard! Paper Crafts magazine has been SUCH an inspiration to me
and helped make some dreams come true! :) I've had numerous cards chosen for their magazines, had the privilege of being asked to participate in special issues and even had some chosen, won some challenges, had a card featured on their blog, was in the Top 15 of the Gallery Idol a few years ago! And SO many friends made along the way! And not to mention how the magazine inspired me TREMENDOUSLY!!!
All this to say, I am SO Thankful and Blessed to be a part of something that was a
Huge accomplishment to me in my life! One of my dreams was to have a card on the cover, and now I'm sad to say, that it will never happen with Paper Crafts magazine! :( I haven't submitted any cards in a while and I truly regret that now! Life got busy and I just ran out of time. But, I'm still happy that my kids saw my work in them and that I can show my Grandkids the magazines one day and they will see my work and name in them. I'm sure they won't think it's real "cool", but I will! ;)

I am also VERY grateful for the continued support of PC&S for sponsoring the "Cards From the Heart Card Drive", I have for the children's hospitals on Valentine's Day! They are always so grateful in giving prizes! I am forever Grateful! Thank you!

Here is a pic of me holding all the magazines that had my cards in them. I had a pic of me holding the first issue I was published in, but that picture is now stuck on my old laptop! :(

And here is a picture of the card I made for the people at PC&S.

Thank you all SO much for being in my life, and making this girls dream come true, in having a card published and her name in print. And also, for giving to the Card Drive. My vision in helping those children, wouldn't have been fulfilled, if it wasn't for Generous Sponsors like you!
Praying that all of you find jobs that you LOVE, because anyone would be lucky to have you! :)
I will miss you all! ♡

Amber's blog is your next stop, Here!
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hey everybody! Happy Valentine's Day! I'm sure all the kids got to open their cards today! The though of their sweet smiles, makes me SO happy! Thank you all, who helped make that possible!
Well I have a card to share with you today. This is a card I made for my husband for Valentine's Day and I got the idea from Pinterest (LOVE that site)! He has gone with me a few time to the eye Dr and he always picks on me about not getting the letters right in the exam! He has Great vision, so he has NO clue about blurry letters! :) So I thought this card was very fitting for him! :)
Well my daughter will play her first Varsity Softball game tonight and then I guess we will go have a Valentine's family dinner, instead of normal Valentine dinner with my husband! :) But I wouldn't miss this game for the world! We are SO excited! :)

Happy Valentine's Day!,

"Cards From the Heart Card Drive" Totals

Hey everybody! Let me just say....I have been a BUSY girl and I think I need a vacation now! :) I LOVE doing this Card Drive every year, but I must say it gets tiring! But the cards have been mailed, I'm almost finished with the drawing and then I can recoup for next year! :) I wanted to mail all the cards off on Friday, but there was a delay in the envelopes and then the cards started POURING in, so I had to order MORE envelopes, so it took the weekend and yesterday to get everything caught up.
I had a couple of emails of people sending them in late, but I think everyone's cards came in and were shipped out to the hospitals! But PLEASE make sure you send them in by the due date next year. I like to get them in the mail ASAP, so that there are no delays and make sure they are there on Valentine's Day! It would be devastating if they didn't get there on time!

Here is a pic from the weekend. I like to call it the "Cards From the Heart Card Drive" Sweat Shop! :) I had my husband, my kids, and my nieces over to help finish up with stuffing envelopes! :) They didn't want me to take a picture of their faces, since they weren't "picture ready"! So I just took a picture of some of the process. :) They were a BIG help! I'm very Thankful that I made them come over and help! ;)

And this is what 4,240 cards look like packaged! :) Can you believe that total?! It is CRAZY to me! The Lord truly AMAZES me!
The most we have ever collected was 2 years ago and the total was 3,000! I CANNOT Thank you all enough! Ya'll are AMAZING!!!! I get letters in the mail from some of you who make these cards in memory of your kids (so inspiring to me), I had one lady tell me that when she was in 2nd grade, her class made her cards when she was sick in the hospital and she STILL has them to this day! I LOVE that!

It is truly overwhelming for me at times! I NEVER knew this Card Drive would grow like it has! It started off as a ministry for me to collect 200 cards for St. Jude and then it grew and we had to add more hospitals. We gave to the same amount of hospitals this year. We lost one hospital, but then turned around and gained another BIG hospital and we were able to give WAY more to them!
I would LOVE to add more hospitals next year. If any of you have a hospital in mind, email me the hospital and I will contact them and see if they might be interested for next year.

Here is a list of where the cards went this year.
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
TX Children's Hospital
St. Joseph's Children's Hospital of Tampa
Shands Hospital for Children UF -Florida
Nationwide Children's Hospital- Ohio
St. Louis Children's Hospital Foundation
Cincinnati Children's Hospital
Shriners Hospital for Children- Cincinnati
Shriners Hospital for Children- Northern California
Shriners Hospital for Children- Boston
Shriners Hospital for Children- Galveston
Shriners Hospital for Children- Houston
Sinclair Children's Center- foster home
Hailee- A little girl I've been praying for on Facebook, who is battling cancer.

Well I need to go. I have a LOT more names to add to the drawing! I hope to be done with it hopefully soon and then I will draw the winners and post who the winners are. I'm getting excited for ya'll, there is some GREAT prizes! Thanks again to all the Sponsors! :)

Thank you all again for making this a GREAT Card Drive and I hope you all have a very Blessed day!

Love is in the Air

Hey everybody! It has been a CRAZY week here in Texas! We have had 2 snow days, only a few days apart! It NEVER snows here, so it's got all of Texas going Crazy! :) So since we have had snow days, I been able to stay home and get TONS of work done on the Card Drive! So I'm very happy about that! The cards have been pouring in, Thank ya'll SO much for that!

But I have been a little busier with some of the cards that were sent in! I thought my guidelines and rules were pretty specific, but I'm guessing I need to make them even more specific next year?! Don't get me wrong, some of them were exactly right,  but some of them had last names, the town they lived in, get well soon, praying for you, ect. It is suppose to have your first name and state you live in ONLY! No last names, town you live in, get well or anything religious (I don't think I had that listed on the rules this year, that's my mistake, but it has been mentioned in the years past) and no blog addresses (they aren't suppose to be able to contact you.) These are not MY rules, but the hospitals. I want to go by their rules, so they will allow us to send them for years to come. I won't throw any of those cards away, so I have had to fix them, so they do go by the rules, and you can imagine how time consuming that is, along with everything else there is to do! By no means am I complaining about getting cards, I'm just trying to make this a fun project, because right now, trying to figure out how to fix cards...isn't fun to me! So PLEASE read the rules very carefully next year.
Ok, off my soapbox! Here's some cards! :)

Check the Sponsor page, I have been updating it too. If you haven't shipped your cards, don't! Because I don't think they will get here in time. I will be shipping cards tomorrow and the rest on Monday, so if I don't get your cards in time, they will be saved for next years Card Drive.
Ok, I better go, I have TONS of work to do!

Friday, January 24, 2014

Hey everybody! Looky! Looky!, it snowed in Southeast Texas! This NEVER really happens! :) So of course you know we had a Snow Day from school! Us Texans can't drive in these conditions! :) It is a view from our back porch. Not much snow, but it's still fun for about a day or so! :)
Me and my husband, braved the roads, so he could go and fix peoples heaters and I got out of the house to check the mail for cards and work on the Card Drive, until he gets done running service calls. Then it's home to a warm fire in the fireplace! :)

Here is a card I made awhile back. I really LOVE these little jars! :)

Well the cards are still coming in. I don't want to give out any totals, just yet, but the numbers are looking good! Thank you to everyone who has sent cards or are going to send cards. Just Please remember that I need them by next Friday Jan.31! I will be shipping cards out that afternoon, so I can make sure they get to the hospitals in time. So please don't delay, get your cards in the mail! :)
Check out the Sponsor page too, I've been adding more prizes!

Have a Blessed weekend!,
