Mesothelioma Awareness Day

Hey everybody! I was recently emailed and asked if I would participate in an Awareness day, so of course I wanted to try and do my part! So today I'm here to bring awareness to the terrible disease, Mesothelioma.

The lady who emailed me, Heather, shared a little bit about her story.
She was exposed by wearing her dad's jacket that had been covered in "dust". :(
When she was diagnosed, she was given 15 months to live.
Mesothelioma is a rare and very aggressive form of cancer caused by exposure to asbestos fibers.
There are three types of mesothelioma:
    1. Pleural mesothelioma (occuring in the lining of the lung) is the most common - 70% of all cases
    2. Peritoneal mesothelioma (lining of the abdominal cavity)
    3. Pericardial mesothelioma (lining of the heart)

Mesothelioma becomes most apparent in patients in the US about 30 to 40 years after their exposure
You can find her whole story here.

So if you could, please check out her story and help spread Awareness to this disease.

Thanks,

~Winter
