Valentine Gifts

Hey everybody! Well I wanted to share some Valentine treats I made for the kids teachers. Autumn helped Chace do his Valentine's for his friends, and she did hers, so that was a HUGE help to me! :) They exchange Valentine's at school on Friday, but they weren't there, so they brought theirs a day early. I remembered at the last minute, that I needed to make something for the teachers, so I made something really quick! And who doesn't like Hershey bars? :)

Here is Chace's quick Valentine box. Yes, I see now, that you can see the words through the fabric on the box. :) But look how cute that little moose is! :) They usually have a Valentine box contest, but they didn't do it this year, so I thought we would go with simple! :)

We are still on vacation and I hope to be back tomorrow with pictures of us dropping off the St. Jude cards! :) We are staying in Mt. Juliet tonight, and I already got to meet Kelley, we just couldn't wait until tomorrow! I will get to meet Courtney tomorrow and we will are going to church with them and out to lunch! I can't wait to get to know them in person, I feel like I know them already! :)

Hope ya'll have a Blessed Valentine's Day!

Texas Children's Hospital Trip

Hey everybody! Well I just realized today, that I haven't posted since Sunday! I'm so sorry, but I have been so busy getting all of the last minute preparations done before we leave in the morning! I had to take my kids to the Dr. yesterday, they have had sinus congestion and some sore throats, but the Dr. said no Strep! Praise God! It is just viral, they should be fine. So please pray we all stay well on our trip. And please pray for my Paw Paw. He has been sick for a couple of weeks with congestive heart failure. He is home and taking meds and is doing pretty good. But he is 83 yrs old and sometimes it takes a little longer to get better.

Well yesterday was the day that Chance and I took our little trip to Houston to delivery 1,000 cards to Texas Children's Hospital. It is about 2 hrs. one way for us, so it was a pretty long day, but SO worth it! We had to pull up in the drop off spot and they told Chance that he had to park and stay with the truck, (I guess so we wouldn't take long). So I went in by myself and carried all those cards. Just walking in there is just Amazing! It is so kid friendly! I took a couple of pictures inside of some of the children's art work. It is so cute! The lady I turned them into, was so appreciative for the cards. I did not get to hand them out, they make gift bags for them and they will put cards in the bags! So thank you again, from everyone at Texas Children's Hospital!

Kelley also took some of the cards to a Children's Hospital in Nashville yesterday. They were going to have a Valentine party tomorrow and hand out the cards to the kids and maybe even some of the parents. So thank you, from all of them too! :)

Ok, well I am off to finish up packing! We were suppose to head out early in the morning, but we have had really rainy weather and now we are expecting snow! We have had snow twice since I have lived here in about 20 yrs! And then it decides to snow tonight! Go figure! :)
Have a Blessed night!

More Card Drive Cards

Hey everybody! Ok, I still have some cards to share that I made last month for the card drives. I think they turned out cute. The first one is a digital stamp from Squiggly Fly that I bought over a month ago and I fell in Love with it. It was created by Jane from over at Plain Janes. I really didn't do the stamp justice! I don't own alot of Copics, so I used colored pencils instead and I could say my kids colored it, but I admit, I did it! :) I plan on using the image again soon, when I get some free time! Cute Robots. More PTI stamps.
Cute Studio G stamps.
And here is a bunch I made with all the same color scheme.
I'm too lazy to post all the supplies tonight, let me know if you have any questions about what I used. I have a BUSY week this week, before we leave on Friday morning, so I better get off of here and do some things on my "To Do List"! :)

Have a Blessed night!

Everything But The Kitchen Sink Challenge & Embellish Ribbon Color Challenge

Hey everybody! Well I have some exciting new to share with you. My good blog friend Kelley, has offered to take some cards to the Children's Hospital in Nashville too. So I sent her 230 of the cards I collected, so that means that we will have reached 3 Children's Hospitals on Valentines Day! How amazing is that? Thank you so much Kelley and to all of ya'll for helping! :)

Ok, I wanted to show you a card that I made for Chance for Valentines Day. I started working on it last week, when I was working on the EBTKS Challenge projects, using a box top. But I didn't get it done in time to post it on the Challenge release day, so I sat down today and finished it. Then I noticed that one of the ladies' entries in the challenge has the same idea! I guess great mind's think alike! :)

It's a pretty simple card, so I let the focus be in the inside. I also noticed that it was almost the same colors as the Embellish Ribbon Color Challenge too. I changed the color pink that I was using and went with the lighter pink.

Here was the box tops I used for Chances card.

Here is the outside. Here is the inside. I stamped on the picture, the words- FOREVER... This is a picture Autumn took of us at the park a couple of weeks ago.
I also needed a card for my Mom's Birthday. My brother and sister's and I and all of our families are bringing my Mom out to dinner tomorrow night, so I thought I would use the Embellish colors for her card. Here is her Birthday card. I don't know if you can tell, but I didn't clean my leaf stamp very good from the last time I used it and when I tried to use Versamark, it had a little bit of color in it. I really like the effect though! It kind of matches the blue. :)
There is still a couple of days left for the EBTKS Challenge, and there is a great prize up for grabs and the winner will be a guest designer too! :) So come by the EBTKS blog and check out the details and play along with us!

Card Drive Prize Winners

Hey everybody! Ok, well it is time to announce the winners of the drawings. I separated the prizes so we could have 10 winners. My kids so graciously drew the names for me.
And the winners are:

Prize 1) Karen McAlpine
Prize 2) Karen Baker
Prize 3) Kim Ruark
Prize 4) Olenka Perez Addition
Prize 5) Jennifer Casey

Prize 6) Barbara Konopa
Prize 7) Maureen Plut

Prize 8) Dawn DiPasquale
Prize 9) Leslie Hansen

Prize 10) Nellie Mitchell I am going to try and get all of these in the mail today, so you can use some of them for Valentine's Day!
I cannot tell you enough how much I appreciate all of the help in the card drive! Ya'll are Amazing!! :) There was a total of 126 people who sent cards! And are you ready for the card totals? Drum roll please....................... 1, 519 cards!!!!!

I think I am still in shock! I decided to bring 300 to St. Jude's, I know the goal was 200, but you never know if they might need more, or they can give them to some of the brothers and sisters to the patients. I'm sure they will be spending Valentine's Day together! And I will be bringing Texas Children's Hospital 1,219 cards. There was not a set goal for this one, because they see so many children. But I am thinking there will be enough cards! :) I received cards from all over the world. I had tons from the states and some from Italy, Hawaii, The Netherlands, Australia, UK, Germany, Canada! For a little country girl, it's was really neat to see all of these cards coming from all over the world! :)

I want to Thank my family for helping me and putting up with me being a slacker in other areas this last month! :) Thank you Autumn & Chace for checking the mail everyday and getting all the packages, I LOVED seeing your faces light up as your arms were full of packages! Thank you Chance for helping me cook and getting the kids ready for school, while I was exhausted in the bed, from late nights with the card drive. Thank ya'll for being so understanding and supportive through the card drive. I love ya'll! :)

I'm sure I will do this again in the future. It is alot of work, so I need a break first, but it will be so worth it, as I think of all the 1,519 kids who will open up their cards on Valentine's Day! :)

If you have been thinking about doing a card drive, please give it a try! Think of how many peoples lives you can touch through a single card! :)

Thank ya'll again so much & may God Bless every single one of you for your kindness!

ETA: Don't forget about EBTKS Challenge & there is a new addition, so check it out! :)

My first published card!

Hey everybody! Well, I went back to Hobby Lobby today, and what do I see.... CARDS February issue sat there looking at me! (Sounds like a song!) :) I waited until I got in the truck, so me and Chance could see it together. And what do you know, it was the last card in the book! :) I was so excited to see it and to see my name! Too COOL! It was really neat to see all for my "blog friend's" cards too! I told Kelly Marie, that I would take a picture holding the book and have all smiles.... so here it is! I am trying to get all the stuff together, so I can draw the winners from the card drive, so please hang in there with me!
ETA: Don't forget about the EBTKS Challenge! :)

Have a Blessed night!

Oh, Where Art Thou CARDS magazine?

Hey everybody! Well I'm a little upset today! Today was the reveal to my first published card in the CARDS magazine! I woke up and got dressed, I even curled my hair (so I could take a pic of me holding the magazine)! :) I called Hobby Lobby this morning to make sure that it was in, because I have to drive 45 min. to get there! I got to Hobby Lobby, to find out that they didn't have any! I look and looked everywhere! I went and asked someone who worked there and they didn't know, so they went and asked someone else. I took them the January copy and said, this magazine but the February issue. She said, if it's not on the shelf then we don't have it! I said, I called this morning and someone said ya'll did and I had to drive 45 min. to get here. Needless to say, I had to just walk away and leave! I know they were probably thinking, WOW she's upset over a magazine? But it had MY card in it! :) Anyway, me and Chance drove around to 5 other stores looking for it and still didn't find it! So I am hoping I will find it when I bring Chace to the dentist tomorrow, it is in another town, so we'll see if they carry it! I really just wanted to go to the store, get the magazine and search the magazine until I find my card! Weird I know, but that's just me! :) So nobody tell me what page it's on! I am a cheapskate and I won't pay for a subscription, so now I am paying for it, in suspense! Anyway, enough of my nonsense whining! :)

Ok, the card drive is now CLOSED! I received LOTS more cards today, but I am trying to get it finished so I can deliver them to the Hospital. So please DO NOT send anymore. Thank you all again, for all of your generosity! I have to make another order for the clear envelopes, this will be my 4th! After I have counted all the cards, I will post all the totals, but let me just say WOW, it is LOTS!!!!! :)
I added more gifts today, so you can go here to see them. Thanks Amy & Julie! :) I am going to try and do the drawings soon, so stay tuned for that! :)

Have a Blessed night!
